What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Great for cycling and non-cycling activities
I used even before I started cycling and they are great for both cycling and non cycling
Recently got Lasik - anyone have any affordable options for riding shades that seem good for the money?
Best options for prescription sunglasses? 3e0; I dislike contacts so I need prescription sunglasses for cycling
I started wearing them last year and now wouldnt ride without them.
Sturdy design
Yeah they are nice they just sat a bit higher on my face then I expected but they are pretty sturdy
Glasses are number 2 in order of importance after a helmet. They keep rocks, mud, branches and bugs out of your eyes. And the sun 😎
This is such the vanilla recommendation but after years and years of riding and a bunch of different glasses, the Sutro Lite is now my go to.
Durable and resistant to scratches
Anyone who says these scratch up too easy must be literally throwing them at rocks.
Fits securely and does not slide off
It never slide off my sweaty face once (it was hot & humid AF)
I’ve used 100% S3 for a few years now. Interchangeable lens, the Hiper lenses are amazing in all conditions.
Great clarity of lenses
They get dark fast and they go clear in 1 minute tops.
I need eye protection for fall riding! I’m looking for something with clear lenses that is reasonably priced, and doesn’t make me look like an asshole.
Affordable price
I came to see the difference since the gen s is cheaper than active.
Significant wind protection compared to regular glasses
My eyeglasses and regular sunglasses are surprisingly useless at wind protection.
Dedicated cycling glasses are protective, shatter proof and made of plastic therefore they are unlikely to damage that very precious part of your face if an accident were to occur.
I'd stick with cycling sunglasses. Your eyes are useful and you should protect them.
Interchangeable lenses for different light conditions
they feel pretty sturdy AND do a better job than my regular eyeglasses blocking my eyes from the wind
Affordable price point for cycling glasses
the cycling glasses prevent the contacts from drying out and were only like $30.
Affordable price for multiple lenses and accessories
these hit the wallet just right.
Affordable and effective for various sports
cheap, polarized, work great. I've used the same pair for everything.
Durable design with multiple colors and lenses
Favorite amazon cheap mtb glasses What’s y’all’s favorite cheap glasses from Amazon? Mine just broke and looking to try new ones
I’ll second the x tiger recommendation. Lots of colors and 3+ replacement lenses depending on the set you buy. Durable enough for the price too
Affordable price and quality
Price is great and so is quality.

Not ideal for all-day wear
They're great as driving/daytime/outdoor glasses though.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion about using clear safety glasses for night riding
For night I use clear safety glasses from Home Depot or Lowes.
I have 2 in my car and another pair at home.
I wear prescription safety glasses that work pays for... I 100% use them for cycling because I am cheap and wouldn't want to accidentally break my regular glasses I've paid for.
Use of yellow/low light lenses for night riding
I am using sunglasses from 100% and just replace my daylight lenses with yellow/low light lenses.

Discussion about inexpensive alternatives available at local stores
I'm fond of buying inexpensive, UV blocking, safety sun glasses available at your local hardware store.
I bought a cheap polarized one at lidl and they work fine.
New Tifosi Sledge look pretty sweet at $69.95 with interchangeable lenses.
I 100% endorse this. They are just as good as my Oakley and Smith shades.
Comparison of quality with cheaper options
Probably better quality and a fraction of the cost.
if you can save up for the more expensive one with changeable lenses because they normally have a stronger build.
they have been worth every penny.
Great for the price.
Discussion about care and handling of sunglasses
I'll be just as careful with these.
I have 3 pairs of Davos, love em
Discussion about cheaper alternatives
The gen s is cheaper on Payne glasses website. I've bought from them couple times.
Comparative experiences with other lenses
The difference is the xtractive will darken a bit in a car and have a very very slight tint indoors while the Gen s won't.
The tint in the car is slight enough that it's of almost no benefit compared to sunglasses.
Long story short, unless you plan to stare into the sun all the time get yourself an pair of regular sunglasses with prescription lenses polarized or not your choice.
Discussion on alternatives to prescription glasses
many can make the 'RX' perscription lens inserts work, but for me, they'd be too small for comfort* and too close to my eyes
My eyes gets dry and i completely lost focus.
Comparative experiences with other types of eyewear
Never had an issue. Don’t even know where my cycling glasses are now.
The difference between that pair and my eyeglasses is night and day ...
Discussion about recommendations for clear cycling shades
I need to wear something to keep my contacts from drying out and want to get something for those after dark rides.
Mention of other brands and alternatives for cycling glasses
Photochromatic Oakley Sutro Lite.
Love my Oakley photochromic glasses! They don’t get quite as dark as I would like on the super sunny days, but they’re incredible otherwise.
Definitely my recommendation. Love mine!.
Safety glasses from the hardware store.
Discussion about alternatives for eye protection while biking
Problem is, when it’s bright I need something that also is sunglasses, and my sunglasses don’t block stuff from getting in my eyes effectively.
Buy a cheap pair of polarized wraparound safety glasses or goggles.
Yeah I have a pair of these (because they go over prescription glasses, but the look and shape aren't terrible.)

Comparison of photochromic lenses for varying light conditions
They are light enough that I can wear them on rides when I start in the dark, but they get dark enough when the sun comes out to work comfortably for me then, too.
The lenses are normal most of the time, except when you are in sunlight, the lenses are tinted.
Mention of other brands and alternatives
Kapvoe, if I recall had alot of reviews. Might be worth checking out
Tifosi, especially with the transition lenses if you spend a lot of time under heavy tree cover
Comparison with other brands and products
my goggles, that I absolutely adore, are the smith squad mtb’s with the chromapop rose lens.
Came here to plug the Smith Squad XL MTB. I have the rose Chromapop lenses and I’ll never go back.
Tifosi makes some photochromatic glasses that dont look terrible and can be used at dusk/night.
