What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Photochromic lenses change quickly
A few seconds for mine.
It’s the best essential piece of wearable equipment that I have. I freaking love my glasses.
Great for varying light conditions
Yes they're fantastic to use, I ride in direct sun, cloudy, and at early morning/night with the same glasses.
Yes, if light changes during your ride. I mostly ride gravel and there is a huge difference between open road and a dense forest, they are awesome for that.
Yep, they're great for gravel and MTB. For road they're unnecessary.
Photochromic lenses are very effective in varying light
Then photochromic will be the answer you need.
Photochromic lenses work well in varying conditions
I use the photochromic and they work surprisingly well.
I've had them 3 years, but when I inevitably destroy them I won't be mad bc of the price.
Affordable price point for quality
it's just that cheaper options still protect you from harmful UV spectrums while costing immensely less.
Can't recommend them enough.
Comfortable fit for extended wear
they just fit way better than any cheap options I tried: they're more comfortable, they stay in place really well, and they have full coverage without getting in the way.
Durable and reliable for outdoor sports
Will never buy another brand as long as the replacement lenses stay cheap. Great glasses
Have had a pair of sledges for almost two years now. Bought a few replacement lenses for $29 over that time, still love them.
Photochromic lenses are useful for varying light conditions
Photochromatic glasses Anyone use them? If so which ones? Or a gimmick?
If my ride spans day and night (which is usually the case - I ride in the late afternoons to early evenings), I'll take my photochromatics 👌

Concerns about lens durability
The main concern would be if the lenses are shatterproof or not.
Not effective in cars due to windshield blocking UV rays
They’re great. Pro tip though, don’t wear them in the car.
Concerns over potential creaking of glasses
But do they creak like cheap glasses?

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion about using safety glasses as an alternative
You can pick up clear safety glasses for almost nothing at a hardware store or online
Pretty much any clear or yellow glasses made for either sports or work-safety will work.

Comparison with branded eyewear
The fact that it actually passes impact testing standards is just cherry on the sundae.
Well worth the money if you ride a lot.
Discussion on the effectiveness of photochromic glasses for commuting
Are photochromic glasses worth it? Do they even decently work?
Discussion on value of inexpensive sunglasses
So my question: are these sunglasses actually better than cheap ones? Do they scratch less easily (better materials)?
Comparative experience with different brands
Count me in on team Tifosi.
Comments on the perception of value in cheap eyewear
I'd rather have a new pair of crappy ones every year than an ancient set of nice ones that slowly get worse and worse.
Discussion on sunglasses for varying light conditions in the woods
I know Oakley's are the bees knees when it comes to this kinda stuff but I'm on a budget so what a your recommendations?
I like Goodr sunglasses for running, but I can't use them in the woods. Completely throws off my depth perception.
try to find styles with gradient lenses - they're a game changer and i never have to take off my glasses when entering forested sections!
REACTIVE lenses, so you can leave them on in the shade or in darker conditions and be able to see fine.
Discussion about the value of inexpensive sunglasses
Thoughts on “fake” sunglasses? Foakleys. Ride 0%’s. Knockoffs. What do you think about them? Do you have them? Are they total crap? Do they rule? Worth the money, or better to shell out $200+ on the real deal? Or just get “real” brand sunnies that are cheaper?
I've never found a need to spend more than $30 on sugnlasses.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion on quality of inexpensive sunglasses
AliExpress has tons of great options for cycling accessories.
They look great, they feel great, they’re cheap as all fuck.
I pulled out a pair of super cheap Oakley reps I got about 5 years ago and did some non scientific testing on the lenses, they held up fine.
They are night and day in terms of quality and optics.
General chatter on cycling eyewear preferences
Can recommend tifosi glasses, good quality and affordable.
Love tifosi. And, many have replacement lenses meaning the temples and nose bridge often last for 3-5 lens changes.
Personal experiences with different brands of cycling glasses
I'm on my 3rd pair. My first pair snapped due to my own negligence, 2nd pair is great but they are more like sunglasses shape-wise and don't block wind too well.
They change color from amber to copper, which is much more pleasing on the eyes than the usual gray lenses that just make everything darker.
Concerns about the durability of knockoff sunglasses
the main drawback of knockoff sunglasses is that the lenses get micro scratches very easily.
