Snoop's Take

The Umarex T4E Walther PPQ is a .43 caliber training pistol designed as a paintball gun marker, offering a realistic training experience for enthusiasts. Users have praised its build quality, stating that it has a "nice weight to it" and is "super fun to use," making it suitable for various training scenarios and gameplay. However, some feedback indicates frequent malfunctions and difficulty in adjusting the velocity, leading to mixed reviews on its reliability. Overall, while the T4E Walther PPQ has potential for training and recreational use, caution is advised due to the reports of performance issues, making it a conditional recommendation for its category.

Nice. Kinda been waiting for umarex to step up and focus on paintball a little more.

Positive Feedback

Umarex paintball sim markers are hot trash. Always break, and if you live in canada you can’t ship it for warranty/service as it won’t get back thru the border…

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Umarex is focusing more on paintball technology
Nice. Kinda been waiting for umarex to step up and focus on paintball a little more.
I think the EMF200 is way ahead of this marker
Focus on improving paintball technology
Umarex is releasing their own AR-15 style gun- full-auto, dual-feed, FSR-capable, etc.
Maybe finally an Umarex marker that you would actually want?
Well built and good weight
It’s built pretty good and has some nice weight to it.
Highly realistic size and weight for training
Just ordered one of these to add to my collection.
I think my main issue is the insanely heavy trigger.
In my case it really helped to push the pellets in with a toothpick so they didnt interfere with the belt mechanism and its pretty good now
Compact size for sidearm use
I only have the revolver by umarex, it doesn’t shoot 68 cal paintballs and velocity is not adjustable.
Good choice for small hands
So if I had to choose between a ppq and a Glock I would take the ppq
Fun to use for various purposes
super fun to use, all the weight is in the handle so very easy to aim in any situation
It’s definitely fun to play around with.
Fun concept of gas blowback paintball marker
I loved the idea of having a gas blowback paintball marker, at least here in Mexico the .43 cal is allowed in most fields, but in a performance opinion is unreliable and flimsy.
Realistic size and weight for training
they are useful for cqb, but I'd rather use my FSC or TiPX.
Fun to use in gameplay
It’s absolute garbage and I love it.
I loved taking my Umarex double barrel shotty right up the the front line, holding it, and downing several players and ended up taking the game single handed - one manually loaded ball at a time.
Allows for realistic self-defense training
This hits stronger then the Byrna self defense air gun pistol.

Where it needs some work!

Frequent malfunctions and breakage
Umarex paintball sim markers are hot trash. Always break, and if you live in canada you can’t ship it for warranty/service as it won’t get back thru the border…
My first one literally broke in half!
Difficulty in adjusting velocity
The only way to adjust most umerex pistols as I understand it is to fire off some of the gas in the cartridge.
Not field legal in many areas
They are not field legal most places in the US due to insurance, but I haven't heard many complaints on the marker itself.
Unreliable performance and finicky operation
I would be all over this if it could reliably fire normal paintballs but it's too finnicky even for me.

General discussion on marker velocity adjustment
Most, if not all markers can be adjusted to the 270-300 FPS range, which is most field limits.

Discussion on the compatibility and features of new markers
If this is made in-house in Germany then I may have no excuses.
Comparison to other paintball guns
Nothing they make have key features like adjustable velocities, removable barrels, or the ability to be cleaned on the field, all of which have been standard features on serious paintball guns since the late 1980s.
Looking like a real firearm gives you no advantage at all.
Discussion on training with paintball guns
The MWS 416 seems solid and ready to go right out of the box, but it’s more expensive.

Any reason for picking the First Strike Pistol or Tippmann TiPX instead?

Discussion on UK regulations for airgun joules
This website claims to be selling the Umarex HRD 68 16 joules the version for a good price is this likely a scam as I thought you couldn't go above 9 joules in the UK.
I would have thought it would come under the definition or an airgun and as a pistol would need to be under 6 joules to not require a license.
Tempting to order and find out but don't want it to somehow not get to me.
The description says less than 16 joules. 9 joules is less than 16 joules!
Discussion on the orange tip regulations for airsoft guns
Can someone please help me to get this orange tip off??
Yes and no, they're orange because of federal/state regulations out of fear that people, not just cops, could think it's an actual firearm and cause more issues than it's worth.
Discussion on alternatives to the marker
I'm really set on the Walther PPQ 9mm.

General chatter about paintball pistols
Have you tried .50 First Strikes?
I don't think I have, hopefully that improves things significantly.
Did you end up trying First Strikes? If so did they improve anything?
Haven't been able to try unfortunately
Discussion about the reliability of rental guns
In my experience as an ex ref and years of playing: rental guns tend to be inconsistent.
Umarex's popularity in airsoft guns in the US
Umarex is very well known, primarily in the US for the airsoft guns.
