Snoop's Take

The T4E TR50 Gen 2 Revolver is a .50 caliber training pistol designed for paintball enthusiasts and trainers alike. It allows users to shoot .50 caliber paintballs or rubber balls, providing a unique training experience with the added convenience of CO2 power. Consumer feedback highlights a mix of sentiments; while some users appreciate the solid build quality and fun factor of the revolver, with comments like, "It does not feel cheap. It's built pretty good and has some nice weight to it," others face challenges with performance issues. Negative reviews point to frequent ball explosions and limited usefulness compared to traditional .68 caliber markers, as noted by one user who remarked, "Go with a .68, the umarex pistols are fun but they're nowhere near as useful as a .68 cal." Overall, while the T4E TR50 Gen 2 Revolver has its strengths in terms of build quality and user enjoyment, potential buyers should weigh these against the reported functionality issues. It may be suitable for casual users but may not meet the needs of those seeking a reliable paintball marker for competitive play.

Positive Feedback

Umarex paintball sim markers are hot trash. Always break, and if you live in canada you can’t ship it for warranty/service as it won’t get back thru the border…

Good build quality and weight
It does not feel cheap. It's built pretty good and has some nice weight to it.
Most, if not all markers can be adjusted to the 270-300 FPS range, which is most field limits.
Fun to use
Can you recommend the umarex HDR 50 Revolver? Does Anyone have expirence with that marker? Would yo
It’s definitely fun to play around with.
Used it indoors at PRZ in Ontario and I got more people out with the sound than paint.
Thanks! Great Review, think ill get myself one :D
Good review quality
We do take kindly to helpful paintball reviews ‘round these parts !

Frequent ball explosions
Umarex paintball sim markers are hot trash. Always break, and if you live in canada you can’t ship it for warranty/service as it won’t get back thru the border…
The umarex revolver is shit, stay away. Less than 1/5 shots make it out intact on average
Ineffective performance with standard paintballs
ah crap, i bought an air-thru adapter so hopefully that's a little less violent on the balls
Paintball is something done for personal enjoyment.
Poor build quality
My first one literally broke in half!
Poor quality perception compared to real paintball markers
Nothing they make have key features like adjustable velocities, removable barrels, or the ability to be cleaned on the field, all of which have been standard features on serious paintball guns since the late 1980s.
Looking like a real firearm gives you no advantage at all.
Limited usefulness compared to .68 caliber
Go with a .68, the umarex pistols are fun but they're nowhere near as useful as a .68 cal.
Difficult to adjust gas settings
The only way to adjust most umerex pistols as I understand it is to fire off some of the gas in the cartridge.
Quality issues with the product
Next thing is hand size ... If you have a big hand TIPX all the way small hands rather Glock or ppq
Not field legal in most US locations
They are not field legal most places in the US due to insurance, but I haven't heard many complaints on the marker itself.
Marker functionality issues
Double barrel mode not working, hard to load, FSR only muzzle load...

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Personal experience with local paintball scene
I look forward to possibly meeting you when the field reopens
Interest in less-than-lethal options for home defense
so my questions: - For a home defence, are there any advantages for going for the "smaller" .50 over the .68 for any of these platforms?
I own the umarex hdr .68, 16 joule version.
Thanks for this! Good call for a holster when investigating things that go bump in the night that may not be bad.
Discussion about measuring joules for HDR 68
How to tell if I have the 16 or 7 joules version of Umarex HDR 68? I just bought what should be a 16 Joules HDR 68 but it doesn't actually say that anyone on the box or the gun, is there a way to tell?
Shoot yourself in the dick with a pepper ball. If it hurts a little bit its the 7J version. If it hurts a lot a bit its the 17J version
It's gonna hurt quite a bit even as the 7J version I suspect.
Define a distance to shoot, doesn't matter what distance as long as you can time from shot to hit. Divide the distance by the time of flight for velocity.

Can hit a fly across the house with the tpm1. Love the .43 options
Discussion about alternative paintball options
Any reason for picking the First Strike Pistol or Tippmann TiPX instead?
Have you tried .50 First Strikes?
I have tippmann and first strike pistols. First strike is much more compact if you are gonna use it as a side arm.
Discussion about alternative loading mechanisms
Ooooo, that sounds like a fun project.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

Discussion about alternative paintball types
Haven’t had any experience with these but I think first strike rounds if it can take them may fix the issue, the plastic will push the ball rather than the co2
I primarily got mine (bc it was cheap) for LTL.
The MWS 416 seems solid and ready to go right out of the box, but it’s more expensive.
Despite it not being a perfect product, I think it’s the best on the market and far better than the Remarkable 2.
Quality .50 paint can be hard to find
As a general rule, the serious paintball community ignores the .50 pistols out there.
Interest in .50 First Strike rounds
Having never shot .50 before it is extremely disappointing.
Discussion about maintenance oil usage
I use the milsig SOS oil because that's what I have on hand, but any runny marker oil should work (don't use grease as that would obviously gum things up).

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion about Umarex's focus on paintball
And wth 13/3000 HPA compatibility, Cocker barrel threading, and built-in pressure ON/OFF feature.
Kinda felt like most of their offerings so far have been adaptation of air gun tech and missing key paintball things like standard barrel threads and velocity adjustments.
I think the EMF200 is way ahead of this marker.
Concerns about the HDR 68 breaking round balls
Forewarning for the HDR 68: it breaks round balls unfortunately 😭
Discussion about rental gun consistency
Tipmann 98s are used for rentals everywhere because they're cheap and will work.
