Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Mention of paintball markers with pepper ball rounds
Any paintball marker with pepper ball rounds 🤷
What gun do you recommend?
Durability likened to the AK of paintball guns
Fair point, but I've never heard of anyone describing them as the AK of paintball for that reason, they always say it's just because they're durable.
Discussion on the functionality of flatline barrels
The flatline is about range, not accuracy.
Actually flatline barrels do work
They do create a flatter arc of the ball, they do not increase accuracy though.
Mechanical similarity to firearms
Homemade closed bolt 9mm SMG utilizing a Tippmann paintball marker lower receiver.
I own multiple Tippmann markers, and their actions are mechanically similar to closed bolt firearms.
Discussion about the rear sight's function
This is my first marker and I just took it apart, and this fell out.
It’s the rear sight. You can leave it out if you want.
Agree 1000% this part fell out day 2 of having mine in the woods.
Rear sight. Not really necessary for function of the marker

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion of 3D printable conversion kits for Tippmann markers
If you own a Tippmann Sierra/Bravo One and want to go magfed -> 3D printable marker conversion kit.
Discussion of mechanical vs electronic markers
I like the fact that the entire package, hopper and all, is driven mechanically using compressed air.
No batteries, easy to work on, reliable, and they shoot nicely in my opinion.
the ICD Alley/ThunderCat, or AGD Automags. The latter has the most stainless steel used in any pb gun iirc.
$500 and you can get a brand new AutoMag RT ULE. Fully mechanical marker with a response trigger.
Discussion about alternative paintball guns and upgrades
I'm more interested in accuracy range and durability.
they have the modern internals you'll be able to live with.
Speedball internals, light weight, and very compact.
Discussion about using older Tippmann A5 markers
Part of me would rather use the A5 cause I’m cheap and I own it already which means I’d only be paying for field admission and paint balls.
A5 will work fine, you might want to do a breakdown and check the orings though.
Don’t have any paintball stores near where I live, and was hoping to get out this weekend so I’m hoping it’s something readily available and not something I’ll have to order online and wait for.
some hardware stores should have them. But it's best to check now and prep yourself to know whether or not you need to rent this weekend than go out on the field and be flustered by your marker not working.
Discussion about less lethal home defense adaptations
Many companies that make paintball guns, like Umarex, are now redesigning their air guns to become “less lethal home defense” weapons.

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Discussion about appropriate upgrades for Tippmann markers
From a quick look, it seems people have very mixed opinions on if it does anything good for your marker.
I was curious as to why someone would buy one of these.
Comparison with other paintball brands
Again I ask what's worse than Tippmann?
a Spyder Xtra and, to a lesser extent due to meh reliability and long trigger pull, an Azodin Kaos 2.
Discussion on the differences between expensive and cheaper markers
What makes really expensive markers like Dye better than the cheaper Tippmann markers?
A really bad gun can limit you as a player.
Electros... propel the paint in a way that is not the way an A5, a 98, or any sear tripping blowback does.
Shot quality, reliability, better parts, lighter.
Discussion on recommended starter paintball guns
Gog Enmy vs tippmann 98 custom vs tippmann a5 (15?) I made a thread a while ago about asking what kind of stuff i should buy as i want to get into paintballing as another hobby/sport.
The enemy will be lighter, and easier to clean/care for, and a lot more suited for any play than the tippmanns.
>a lot more suited for any play than the tippmanns.
The enemy will be more effective in more situations than the tippmanns.
Comparison of paintball guns to stun guns and pepper spray
The velocity is quite low. I think these would hurt but it's essentially a pain compliance tool similar to a stun gun or pepper spray.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion on Tippmann's reputation shift
I just don't get the praise.
Discussion about lack of peer-reviewed resources for paintball marker design
I was wondering if there is a resource that has data and communication for paintball marker function and design.
The closest resource for function and diagrams/animations will be zdspb.com which is frankly one of the best resources in paintball.
I dont know why would you need to peer review a design spec? Unless you're looking for peer reviewed research on marker or paint performance?
Comment on video quality and minor details
How Tippmann Paintball Markers are Made
Awesome video, 60 fps was a bonus. At the end though, that kid drops his mag, then leaves it, all while carrying pods. That bothered me more than it should have haha.
