Positive Feedback

Amazon would be almost my last choice, they don't know how to store, pack, or ship paint, so you have the highest chance of getting some shitty paint.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Safe for young children
The kids LOVED IT.
Your kids may enjoy the low impact better, every kid is different, but as long as they wear the goggles properly and do not take them off on the field, they will be fine.
I think they would enjoy it, as long as they don’t get hurt.
I will look into entry level gel blasters and go from there.
Good for low impact play
Turn em down to low. Paint won't break.
Safe for training and home defense
Best way to get paintballs, nulberry’s, etc.. What’s the best way? I heard palico’s but I haven’t even done palico mode or used the ranch yet.
Palicos don't need paintballs because they can always see where the monster is if I remember correctly.
Paintballs? So has anyone tested out what Paintballs actually do in wilds?

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Personal preferences for paintball brands
I’ve discovered my marker’s favorite is GI 5 Star and America United.
I let it fly with Defy most of the time here in SoCal.
Most of the fields around me sell GI. I shoot 4 star, 5 star, Dynasty, and Evil pretty interchangeably.
Historical perspective on paintball quality from years ago
Not sure about nowadays but 15 years ago I could shoot the shitiest Walmart $20 a case brand and would work just fine for at home dialing shit in.
15 years ago Walmart was still carrying Visible Impact from Gameface/ProCaps. As long as the boxes hadn't been sitting for a year that was *wonderful* paint, and usually ran .687 or larger.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Recommendations for purchasing paintballs
Ansgear might have some cases in the mid 30 bracket but $43 sounds about standard for mid grade paint
Ideally buying paint in person from a shop or field that gets its supply directly from a distributor or manufacturer.
Discussion on the availability of paintballs at local stores
I’m experimenting with some paintballs, but there aren’t any brick and mortar locations here (outside of Walmart) that sell paintballs.
I play with whatever the field or event I go to makes me play with.
Concerns about age restrictions at paintball fields
Instead of 50 cal, just start with gel blasters. Way cheaper investment, and you can also do it in your backyard vs going to a field.
The youngest age generally for paintball is 10 years old. Any younger than that is considered too young considering the necessary safety precautions.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Concerns about the quality of paintballs purchased online
Amazon would be almost my last choice, they don't know how to store, pack, or ship paint, so you have the highest chance of getting some shitty paint.
Amazon is an awful source for paint. They have no clue how to properly store, handle, or ship it, and they don't care enough to get a clue.
Variability in paintball quality based on batch
I’ll definitely be using what the field offers, but I’m just curious if anyone has had any really good and/or bad luck with certain paints when tinkering at home.
There is no one best brand of paint, as freshness and local have massive impact on how well something shoots.
Experiences with low-cost paintballs
I just needed something in a pinch and they worked for that
Concerns about damaging clothing with paintballs
Went paintballing black sweater nothing stained.
Should be alright, but I personally recommend wearing things you're willing to have tear/stain/soil in any manner.
Don't wear anything you care about.
Wash it within a couple days and you'll be fine.
