The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion on preferred climbing rope lengths and thicknesses.
Rope Recommendations? Hey fellow climbing humans,
I am very happy with it.
The beefier the rope, the longer it will last and the better it will hold big whips, but it will also be heavy and cumbersome.
9.5 is a good all-rounder I think.
Discussion on the quality of climbing ropes
Anyone have any experience with Edelrid ropes?
They literally invented the dynamic climbing rope and are the second oldest climbing company in the world
I own quite a lot of Edelrid gear because I often find it at a good price point and I know they produce quality products.

Discussion on using Genie+ for Rope Drops
Going to visit the mouse for 5 days. I’ve been researching about using the rope drop and Genie+ and ILL but am still curious about a few things.
Rope dropping is great, but many times the ride you want to go on is not running.
My most successful rope dropping days have been opposite of traffic.
It’s going to depend on what ride you try to book your first LL for. Just because you are booking your first LL of the day does not mean you will get a morning return time.
Discussion on using Genie+ for Rope Drops.
Avoid crowds, start with something fun to kick off the day, then get a snack and plan the next step.
Any tips appreciated!
Good luck
After that, if you’ve got the legs, you can probably still catch Runaway Railway with a 10/20 min wait, as Toontown isn't super packed early on.
Discussion on rope drop strategies at Disney parks.
Many suggest rope dropping Slinky Dog Dash, which I do want to ride, but it's not a top priority for me.
You can easily knock both out within an hour (plus some rerides if you wanna keep going).
Rope drop sunset Blvd. If both rides are up and running-it's very easy to knock these out back to back via standby.
If you are okay with ILL for Rise- select a later AM time.

Discussion on comparing ropes from different brands.
I've read a lot of reviews and seems like I should be targeting the cheapest quality rope I can find around 10mm.
All are good ropes. Go with the cheaper one. It might not last as long, but it is fun to get a new rope after you have climbed a lot.
I think that the BD rope breaks in too quickly, I'd take it off the list.
I have 2 and they are great ropes especially for the gym.
Discussion on dry treatment necessity
Unless you plan on pursuing ice or alpine objectives you don't need a dry treated rope.
Dry treatment is nice to have, but not need to have unless you're doing snow or ice climbing.
Considerations for climbing rope length
Son of Easy O is a pretty popular route that goes well with a 70m.
Discussion on rope storage solutions to prevent tangling.
this one might work.....yes it's extra stuff to carry around, but as long as it allows easy coil/uncoil, it would be worth it for me, still much lighter and cheaper than sleds
Wait... Is this what you have and it gets tangle?
Discussion on price points of climbing ropes
I have an Edelrid and I'm not dead yet...

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Concerns about quality of climbing ropes from certain brands
The number of cheap Chinese ropes with sewn loops and unrated carabiners on both ends appearing under the climbing ropes section is deeply concerning to me.
Discussion on quality of climbing ropes from certain brands
They're UIAA rated but I'm wondering if anyone here has personal experience with Simond ropes and maybe their other climbing gear?
You get what you pay for !
General chatter about climbing rope brands
I still used it to rap off the route.
It handles well and is true to size.
