Snoop's Take

Dr. Brown's Natural Flow® Anti-Colic Options+™ Baby Bottles are designed to replicate the natural feeding process by incorporating an advanced anti-colic vent system and breast-like nipple design. Offering a stylish Dino Deco design in a 2-pack, these 9oz bottles aim to reduce gas, spit-up, and burping while preserving essential nutrients. User feedback is a mixed bag with many praising the anti-colic performance – one reviewer even noted, “it was the only bottle that kept my boys colic free.” However, the sentiment quickly sours when it comes to cleaning and leakage issues, with users sarcastically remarking that the bottles are “a pain in the ass” due to overcomplicated parts and alignment challenges. Comments reveal that while the anti-colic design works in theory, the real-world experience often involves frustrating leaks and messy cleanups. Overall, while the bottle’s innovative design and intent are commendable, the recurring issues with leaks and cleaning make it a challenging choice for some. Experts would recommend it only if you value the potential anti-colic benefits and are prepared for some extra maintenance.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Effective anti‑colic performance
They are vents to prevent gas/air bubbles from getting into the nipple to keep your baby from ingesting a bunch of air.
I opened the box and said "wtf is this" and opened the instruction pamphlet and found they were optional so I put them aside.
We use the Dr brown's bottles and baby boy went from horrible gas and vomiting to drinking a lot better.
She barely had to burp after eating compared to the Phillips.

Difficult to clean multiple parts
Personally I found the Dr Browns to be a major pain to clean.
Love them. Hate cleaning all the parts.
So sick of cleaning them, though.
These stupid Dr. Brown bottles are the least convenient items on the entire planet.
Leakage issues during feeding
Whenever I didn’t align the holes right our bottles would leak like crazy.
I didn’t know the vent existed so I didn’t massage it at all 🤷🏻‍♀️ oops.
Worst part though was that they leaked all over the place, milk leaked out of the sides of baby's mouth.
I have had it up to here with these dang bottles.
Nipple seating issues causing leaks
You can just omit the green inserts if they’re being annoying.
That's the biggest cause of leaks I've had with Dr. Brown's.
Plastic degradation over time
The plastics degrade over time, especially when heated.
it's just safer/smarter to start fresh.
Ineffective anti‑colic performance
Baby gas sucks!
Btw - “anti-colic” is a misnomer, it’s basically anti-air.
I think I just have a gassy baby 🙁
it makes it wayyyy harder to burp the baby to actually make them happy.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Proper assembly impacts leak occurrence
If you warm the milk/formula up without the top on, and then put the top on once it’s warm, it won’t leak for that reason anymore.
When my little dude is hungry, taking the bottle away for even a second results in pterodactyl mating calls.

Comparisons with competitor bottles
MAM bottle have a rubber thing in the bottom with air holes which helps!
Philips has a vent in their nipples you need to line up perfectly with the notch in the screw cap, otherwise it won’t work.
Philips Avent are super easy to put together one-handed with a wide neck for pouring/cleaning.
Glass bottles as a preferred alternative
I find they leak less.
Any bottle made out of any plastic is just as prone to shipping microplastics.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Concerns about heating plastic
Honestly, you should never heat anything plastic, even things that claim to be microwave safe.
Any plastic is iffy so if it’s important you you stick with glass bottles.
I mean that’s an issue with heating every plastic item.
Dr brown’s makes glass bottles.
Concerns about plastic safety and lawsuit controversy
I don’t think their claim is false and definitely think this is a money grab.
What will you switch to…? If you’re mega concerned why not get a glass bottle but keep the same teat?
Concerns about plastic safety and lawsuits
I feel like I’m gonna spend a ton of money on glass bottles and then there’ll be a lawsuit about that in six months.
There’s essentially microplastics in everything.
They quite literally cannot be avoided.
