Snoop's Take

The wegreeco Reusable Soft 4 Layers 12 Pack Inserts for Baby Cloth Diaper is designed to provide a high-absorbency and soft solution for parents looking to keep their babies comfortable and dry. These inserts are made of a combination of fiber and microfiber, ensuring that they are gentle on a baby’s skin while effectively wicking moisture away to prevent rashes. Consumer sentiment around these inserts has been largely positive, with many users appreciating their softness and absorbency. One user noted, "He has not had a diaper rash since! We now exclusively cloth diaper even during outings," highlighting their effectiveness in preventing diaper rash. However, some users have reported issues with leaking, particularly using microfiber alone, indicating a need for layering with other materials to maximize performance. Overall, the wegreeco inserts are recommended for parents seeking reusable diapering solutions, especially for their comfort and cost-effectiveness. While there are some concerns about leakage with certain configurations, many users have found success with layering and appreciate the environmental benefits of using washable inserts.

I had leaks all the time (compression leaks). Plus the microfiber inserts will start to smell over time.

Positive Feedback

Microfiber is useless. I don’t know why anyone uses it.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Soft and absorbent material for comfort
I had leaks all the time (compression leaks). Plus the microfiber inserts will start to smell over time.
They seem much thicker than the hemp and bamboo ones so thought maybe they would be a more absorbent option but now not so sure.
Honestly, these tea towels work really well and are a breeze to wash.
How do you fold them, if you don't mind sharing?
Soft and comfortable for babies
she sleeps through the night, so apparently it's not uncomfortable even though it looks a bit goofy.
Holds enough for us all night with a 16 month old.
Reusable and cost-effective
I snapped one hemp and one microfiber insert on the top of it and it looks ridiculously bulky, even though baby is big.
Effective layering can prevent leaks
I’ve been adding an extra insert on top of the pocket with no leaks.
I started using birdseye flats with boosters folded into them at night and I haven’t had any leaks yet.
We layer hemp then bamboo in pocket. Then we use a reusable bamboo diaper liner.
Inserts work well for newborns initially
I’d like to use them still, as I have a lot, but I’m trying to decide what other fibers to add to it when I need it.
Once there's a problem with absorbency then you can get more but you shouldn't need it at this time with a newborn.
Bamboo and microfiber combination is effective
I even ordered more pockets without inserts for $5 each. It sounds more reasonably priced to upgrade to natural fiber inserts!
Significantly improved diaper rash
He has not had a diaper rash since! We now exclusively cloth diaper even during outings.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Leaking issues reported with microfiber
Microfiber is useless. I don’t know why anyone uses it.
I love Green Odyssey - no waffling, nice and thick, no leaks, fills up the whole pocket edge to edge.
Bulky when layered with other inserts
You could probably get away with just the two and the liner for a 6mo.
Inserts prone to compression leaking
They don’t hold a lot of liquid and are highly prone to compression leaking.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion on using various insert materials for better absorbency
Yep, inserts are kind of customizable- you put in more inserts or various materials depending on how much your kid pees, basically.
I have a bunch of Alva baby diapers. I no longer use the inserts that came with them.
Discussion about the differences between liners and inserts
Linters are like a thin gauzy material that go on top of insert to help remove solid waste.
It’s a liner that goes between the baby and the diaper that’s like 1/4 thickness of a paper towel.
Discussion on different insert types and their effectiveness
but I’m really unsure, and would like y’all’s opinions.
I do recommend getting different inserts, something like cotton flats or pre-folds.
We're still going strong almost 14 months in.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion on alternative inserts for better absorbency
Cotton absorbs better than the liners, even the gusseted ones.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Concerns about the eco-friendliness of disposable diapers versus liners
The disposable liners are virtually as thin as toilet paper, and there is no plastic - at least the ones I’ve seen.
Discussion on various brands and preferences
Anyone have experience with these brands of covers, or prefer one over the other?
If thats not something you want to do, the alvababy ones aren’t terrible!

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Concerns about pocket diapers being considered gross
Help me pick a brand! Help me see the bigger picture from experienced parents pov.
Hold up, why do you think pockets are gross? I think maybe you’re confused thinking the outer cover gets reused like a shell? You change the whole diaper every time.
I was also worried about being grossed out, but I have become very comfortable with baby pee and poop after becoming a mom lol.
Trust me you'll get over it. I guarantee your baby will pee/poop ON you, at least once in their lifetime.
Concerns about microfiber inserts irritating baby's skin
If they’re the microfiber inserts that came with them you don’t really want that touching the baby’s skin as it can be irritating.
Conversation about the practicality of using cloth diapers
We don’t need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly.
Concerns about the effectiveness of various inserts
Oh, I didn’t start CD until 11 mo. 😂 I’m a newbie!! And maybe a little delusional for thinking 1 insert was enough…LOL!😂
Welcome! I had to switch to using two NN inserts at like 3 months for daytime. I use one disposable each night, though.
I can’t use pockets with regular inserts. They leak every time. Even with hourly changes.
I know back when I shopped, what Nora/Alva sold as "Bamboo" were actually 2 layers of microfiber wrapped in a thin bamboo outer and boy did I feel burned when I figured that out.
