What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Convenient and easy to use
Making drawer liners fit perfectly!
The third one began with them putting it in, then started over at the beginning of the process. It fit fine.
What type of inserts will help me? I’ve been cloth diapering with my baby since she was about 3 months old. Now at 7 months, her bladder holds more so I find the inserts that I use to not be absorbent enough.
I'm a big fan of Kinder inserts. our LO is 6m and the yellow-edge has been just fine for now, but we have the green-edge ones (which have hemp layers) on deck for when he starts peeing bigger volumes.
Soft and gentle on baby's skin
It’s probably the bottom of kitchen or bathroom cabinets. They’re just using “drawer liner” material.
Had this same issue and wound up falling in love with the osocozy cotton prefolds in the “better fit” infant size.
I love my osocozy prefolds!
We used prefolds and rumparooz newborn covers for the first few months. Jelly roll fold is the way to go at the beginning, with a snappi, to contain the explosive breastmilk/formula poos.
Environmentally friendly materials
Inserts too big for Newborn My son is 3 weeks old and just under 8 pounds. I have seen the tips and tricks to get one size diapers to fit his small size but I find the inserts we have are too big.
Convenient for cloth diapering
I use newborn size prefolds folded like an insert and put a flat around it folded kite style.
What size prefolds to use as pocket inserts? I bought some hemp inserts and then was also looking at Osocosy Indian Cotton and Kanga Care bamboo prefolds to use as inserts, trying to avoid microfibers for environmental/absorbancy reasons.
Any of the osocozy "better fit" prefolds fit in my pockets, but nothing longer than 15" washed does.
I have [OsoCozy prefolds](https://amzn.to/2PWvBlZ) and [Rumparooz one-size covers](https://amzn.to/2YhctSr). All I do is fold the prefold in thirds and lay it in the cover, then put it on my toddler.
High quality and absorbent
Very good quality and very absorbent.
Clients generally prefer them.
Effective for containing messes
They didn't fully wrap around her hip, but since she wasn't moving around, they wouldn't shift, so it was fine.
I used the angel wing fold for a while, but then switched to the bikini twist fold because it contains runny poop better in my experience.

Inserts may be too big for newborns

Potential sizing issues for newborns
I didn't like how much the bamboo ones shrunk.
I would jelly roll for the newborn poop phase! After that I just fold it in thirds.
Bulky for newborns
I got the newborn Osocozy ones and they were soooooooooo bulky on my baby!!
Osocozy prefolds were sooo small and did not fit my son at 15lbs, more like 10 or 11.
My son was 7 lbs 3 oz when we brought him home from the hospital, pretty skinny legs and waist, and those newborn prefolds were too small.

Discussion about alternatives to diaper inserts
Green mountain diapers green edge inserts for pocket diapers
Half flats are great and also you can get smaller sized inserts and pre folds to use as inserts from green mountain diapers.
You could use some newborn prefolds
I really liked the newborn quick absorbers( yellow trim) & super absorbers (burgundy trim) during that phase.
Discussion about natural materials for cloth diaper inserts
Currently we have microfiber inserts and I would rather switch to a more natural material.
This seemed to be the go-to for absorbancy for both of them when stuffing pocket diapers.
They are bulky, but work!
Largely at nap times because of flow levels.

Discussion about different diapering options
Hemp and cotton are your friends! From 4 months I switched to 2 inserts in every pocket, and always 1 hemp and 1 cotton.
Hemp is my all time fave for absorbency and also just holding up well- all of our hemp inserts still look pretty much as good as new.
Thank you SO much for the detailed explanation ❤️ Excited about the kinder inserts they sound SO simple and straightforward!
Prefolds are usually only made with cotton while inserts can be made from a variety of materials that people might prefer over cotton, like bamboo and hemp.
Preference between Osocozy and GMD prefolds
I want my prefolds to last long enough to get LO into one size diaps and possibly used as inserts at that point for the pocket diaps I have.
