Snoop's Take

This product is a dual-sided cutting board by Sumzzz designed for all your kitchen prep needs. One side features 99.9% pure titanium suitable for meat, while the other boasts wheat straw PP perfect for vegetables and fruits. User feedback reflects a split narrative: some praise the board for being 'easy to clean!' and note its solid craftsmanship, yet others are quick to point out its flaws. As one reviewer bluntly stated, 'Misleading marketing aside, terrible for your knives,' highlighting concerns over rapid knife dulling. The comments suggest that while its design and ease of cleaning are strong points, its knife-friendly claims may be overstated. Overall, the product is a mixed bag; it may be recommended for everyday cooks who value convenience and design but is less suitable for culinary enthusiasts who prioritize long-lasting knife performance.

Love how the Q&A points out that you WILL have to sharpen your knives more often.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Preference for wooden or plastic cutting boards
Yes, they will eventually fill your knives out but it will take time. Glass, titanium, ceramic stainless steel, marble and all of the other "fancy" cutting boards that are not wood or plastic are just gimmicks.
I'll just stick to my wood cutting boards.
Metal cutting boards can be low-maintenance and versatile
SO much easier to maintain. Plus I put them in the oven.

DIY custom cutting board projects
So I had to make her something special.
I had to dial back the edge a little, because I initially made it borderline prison shank sharp lol.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

Unconventional advice on cutting board usage
Take away all the knives. Talk to her about the issue and the damage it causes.
Or just take 1 "dump" on the counter top (fake poop if possible), take a picture of it, then clean it up.
Establish dominance right from the get-go.
This is the solution that will get results.
Wooden cutting board care tips
You don’t wanna stick wooden utensils in the dishwasher.
This is as close to BIFL as I've seen.
Cutting board size and storage discussions
In my series of one cutting board, 16 x 11 X 1.25 is my favorite.
I must say this particular reddit forum is a fascinating place for a retired chef to lurk.
To use I prefer to have a variety, especially if I’m handwashing afterward, I don’t want to have to manhandle a 5lb board in the sink when I’ve just cut up a lime.
Where do you store your cutting boards and how do you clean them?
Off‐topic marble cutting board anecdote
I tried to explain why it wasn’t a cutting board and she showed me the words on the box.
Discussion of alternative cutting board products and sales
I’ll wait for it to go on sale
it's huge and fantastic.
What makes these special?
I was so tempted to get one of those yesterday, but I stuck to my list :)
Debate over natural oils and beeswax for cutting board care
I want to invest in a nice cutting board, but I also would prefer to oil it with a natural oil.
AFAIK, all "natural" oils will go rancid over enough time.
If you aren't comfortable using mineral oil... then you could mix 4 parts bees wax with 1 part coconut MCT oil.
Beeswax works best when combined with an oil so that it penetrates the wood more.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Humorous kitchen mishaps with cutting boards
With the knife, he brought, to cut up the bell pepper
He fell into my knife. He fell into my knife ten times.
With the bell pepper juice rubbed all over it!!!!!
He looked like the fuking town bully. I don’t usually say this but thank goodness they took him out.
Humorous microplastics discussion
You should hoard balls, add them to your own stash, until you have enough microplastics built up to pee out your own polyester mankini.
Concerns about metal cutting boards harming knives
Why in the world would dragging your knives across a metal surface be better for them
Metal is either going to be soft, get scratched to hell and become unhygienic in no time at all, or it’s going to be hard and ruin your knives very quickly.
