Snoop's Take

The THRUSTMASTER T248P Force Feedback Racing Wheel is designed for racing enthusiasts seeking a realistic driving experience on PS5, PS4, and PC. With its premium leather-wrapped design and versatile wheel shape, it caters to all racing game styles while providing dynamic force feedback adjustments for enhanced control. User feedback highlights both the strengths and weaknesses of the T248P. Many users appreciate features like the pedals that enhance braking performance, with one stating, "Pedals is probably the most important factor into getting the best speeds." However, concerns about the force feedback strength have been raised, particularly for drifting, with a user noting, "the FFB just isn't enough" compared to competitors like the T300. Overall, while the THRUSTMASTER T248P has its drawbacks, particularly regarding force feedback, it remains a strong option for dedicated racing fans due to its premium build and features. Therefore, it is recommended for those who prioritize quality in their racing setup.

Positive Feedback

This looks dope but honestly I just want them to release a $200-$250 wheel with decent build quality and not having to pay the Ferrari tax.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Good for grip racing
the FFB just isn't enough
it definitely has way better force feedback than the Logitech ones
Pedals enhance braking performance
I found that during braking with the T-LCM the base of the rig wanted to move a bit.
Pedals is probably the most important factor into getting the best speeds, or at least has the better and bigger potential for speed imo.
Durability of Thrustmaster products
No problems with my t300 after I think almost 4 years.

High price perceived as 'Ferrari tax'
This looks dope but honestly I just want them to release a $200-$250 wheel with decent build quality and not having to pay the Ferrari tax.
If it's worth the price - I couldn't tell you. If you have the coin, sure, why not?
Insufficient force feedback for drifting
the TMX has alot of internal resistance when turning the wheel quickly.
Force feedback is not as strong as T300
I personally wouldn't upgrade from thx/t150 to t248 because the difference is not that big, but the difference is huge, the force feedback is much better, smoother and there's more strength.
Force feedback can suddenly stop working
Does your force feed back ever just suddenly stop working? Mine does it at least once a race and it’s really annoying.
Weird. I have the Thrustmaster T150 (basically the same wheel, but for playstation) and never experienced that issue. I do have the issue that sometimes it just doesn't work to begin with, but never in race.
Wheel gets numb after extended use
Mine gets numb after like 20 laps. I figured out it was probably my wheel overheating or it was just that my tires were worn out
Force feedback not as strong as competitors
My only gripe with the G27 was it wobbled on straights. Very hard to keep your car steady.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Aesthetic critique of the wheel's shape
That seriously looks like someone stretched a 4:3 image of a round wheel to 16:9.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Curiosity about rotary encoders
my main problem with the P310 and R383 rims is that the d-pad joystick thing is impossible to use with gloves/in VR as it's constantly putting in the wrong input.
You can see the Yellow panel briefly flashing after T15, forcing Lando to lift before T16.
Discussion about racing experience with the wheel
How you like that wheel?
race starts are actually really fun once you got the hang of it
Curiosity about racing wheel experiences
I'm enjoying this enough that I'm considering a racing wheel.
Doesn't have a clutch pedal, but force feedback is pretty good, 900° of rotation, and a sequential shifter.
I'd hate for $50 to be the difference between turning you off sim racing entirely and igniting a lifelong passion.
If you have to have force feedback the T150 is $200 new.

Curiosity about modding and improvements
I've heard of the metal bearing mod, would that fix this specific issue?
It made it a little smoother, however its only incrementally better.
Discussion on price perceptions
More affordable? honestly 400 bucks in a wheel seems like a lot to me.
Discussion on beginner wheel options
All of the models I mentioned are around 200-300 euro which is my budget.
The T150 and 300 are PS while the TX and TMX are Xbox.
The T150 and T128 are considered beginner/very casual player wheel, any thing gear or gear/belt hybrid are beginner.
You should check out the Cammus C5 or C12. It a DD drive wheels.
Comparison to T300 and user upgrade considerations
but from a cost point of view what is the best option and would still be an upgrade from the tmx
The T300 has 3.9nm of force and can have different wheels. The T248 only has 3.5nm and you cannot swap out the wheel.
Discussion about upgrading to direct drive
I plan on upgrading for DD, if you’re somewhere in Europe i have a whole setup(t300/loadcelss/shifter)
Discussion on alternatives like T150 and G29
do not buy the T80 tbh
I don't recommend it for competitive racing, though. Agree with the T150 (or TMX) and G29/G27/G920 being much better.
Budget considerations for racing wheels
A bit out of my budget tho. Why is the t80 bad?
Discussion on upgrading to a solid rig before upgrading wheel
What is the best OVERALL Thrustmaster wheel base? Share your thoughts with me please folks.
Seriously concentrate on getting the solid rig now (presuming it’s a cost issue rather than a living with a rig issue) because by mounting your current wheel base to something rock solid you can actually turn the FFB down and have nore feedback compared with on a desk or whatever.
Debate on value of upgrading to higher spec Thrustmaster models
which for the price, isn't worth it.
I think that’s as far as you can get in thrustmaster.
The cost isn’t worth the small jump in performance.
Considerations on budget for racing wheels and potential upgrades
Depends on your budget.
Curiosity about upgrades and fixing setups
Otherwise the wheel has been running perfect, both on Xbox and PC.
Debate on wheel value and price
Is the thrustmaster worth double the price? Will they both work on the PS4 as well?
Discussion about PS3 peripherals compatibility with PS4
Its the real deal, dont know how I coped without it all these years.
I bought a g27 a month ago and love it, no regrets!

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Issues with T150 wheel recognition on PC
I've found multiple people encountering this issue online and I've tried all the fixes I've seen but to no avail.
Suddenly it worked and the PC recognised it as "Thrustmaster T150 Racing Wheel"
Had the same problem, and switching to PS4 and back to PS3, then unplugging and replugging the USB fixed it. Thanks!
