Snoop's Take

Pampers Training Pants are designed to help toddlers transition from diapers to underwear with a convenient, easy-to-use design. They offer a fun, familiar look with beloved characters like Bluey and My Little Pony while promising up to 100% leak protection with extra absorb channels. Consumer sentiment is a mixed bag – some parents rave that "we already had one leak in these first couple days, and we didn’t have any leaks or issues for that full year with pampers," and appreciate the improved fit and independence it offers. However, concerns about confusing sizing, absence of previously loved features like Velcro sides, and issues with nighttime protection temper the enthusiasm. The comments span from praise for facilitating self-dressing to criticism over design changes that leave some feeling the product simply replicates a diaper with a new label. In summary, while Pampers Training Pants excel in everyday use and offer a solid transition aid for potty training, potential buyers should weigh the trade-offs noted by some users. They are recommended for parents seeking a familiar, trusted brand for daytime use, though caution is advised if night-time or high-wetness protection is a priority.

They just were a better overall fit than the various pullups we tried.

Positive Feedback

They’ve redone the pull ups to be like off brand pampers easy ups so they have a 360 waist instead of Velcro on the sides.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Better overall fit for larger toddlers
They just were a better overall fit than the various pullups we tried.
Effective absorption and leak protection
To me a pull up is still a diaper and only helps them learn to push them down/pull them up.
We already had one leak in these first couple days, and we didn’t have any leaks or issues for that full year with pampers.
the difference between diapers and training pants is not absorbency.
Facilitates learning pull‐up motion for self-dressing
I liked that they taught the motion of pulling up and down so they get used to that and translate that motion to taking off pants and undies.
Facilitates independent dressing and potty training
I appreciated being able to slip them on him as he was crawling away lol.
Training pants can be pulled up and down.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Changed design without easy-open Velcro sides (360° waistband)
They’ve redone the pull ups to be like off brand pampers easy ups so they have a 360 waist instead of Velcro on the sides.
that's probably why they've been out of stock in the bulk size at our local target for the past week.
Confusing sizing and removal of wet indicator
the wet indicator line is gone and sizing gets a little bit more confusing with sizing now going 2T/3T vs 3T/4T.
High cost compared to alternative brands
They’re just more expensive, brand decorated cruisers 360’s.
Insufficient nighttime protection for heavy wetting
As far as I can tell, my options are: A. Stick with the pull ups and wake her up in the middle of the night to get her to go pee and replace the pull up (2 pull ups per night)
Unpleasant scent
I can’t stand the scents but I wish they made a slip-on style diapers.
Yes the scent is awful.
Non-refastenable design
It’s basically a pull up for infants. But you can’t refasten them.
Training design leads to feeling wet
training pants are designed to let a child feel wet so they can help with potty training.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Design trade-offs in training pants absorbency and lining
They don’t hold everything, they’ll still have soaking wet undies on, but they prevent puddles on the floor.
They keep the pee in the pants if there's an accident instead of a puddle on the floor.
the training pants contain a bit more than regular underwear.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Switching to regular underwear may improve potty training
Underwear all the way!
A benefit of this is your child feeling what it’s like to get soaked(yuck) and understand how different it is from a diaper.
Encouraging self-dressing skills through pull-ups
I think the training on actually pulling up and down clothing or pull ups is pretty underrated as well.
Yes, many “experts” (take that with a grain of salt if you will) recommend clothing mgmt as an important part of training.
Pullups are great for kids who do stand up diaper changes or have figured out how to pull the tabs to take their diapers off!
Alternative diaper change strategies
My kid kept disrobing at school and we ended up sending him in only overalls for a while bc he’d escape from any diaper.
I've given up and just stand him up to the couch with a couple of toys while I change him!
will try this!!

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Varied potty training approaches
No method is the only or right way to potty train, choose what works for your family, lifestyle, goals/needs, and child's temperament.
Honestly I’d try to potty train early if that’s an option.
Confusion over pull-ups, training pants, and diaper terminology
Pulls ups are a modified diaper.
Pull-ups are basically a diaper with attached sides.
'Training pants' are the generic name of pullups.
Pull-ups are diapers. They feel no different to a toddler.
Child preference variability in training methods
I like the pull-ups, but my child doesn’t.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Daytime potty training effectiveness questioned
I think they’re pretty useless as kids need to be able to feel the wetness in normal clothes to make the mental connection.
Debate over overnight pull-ups effectiveness versus diapers
Paying for diapers sucks but you get what you pay for in this instance.
I guess it depends on individual preference 🤷🏻‍♀️.
the diapers were, and the overnight pull-ups were really intended for a child that might wake up and use the potty during the night.
I realized they weren’t holding enough.
Perception of pull-ups as just nappies for practice
Pull ups are just nappies that you pull up instead of tape on like nappies.
