Snoop's Take

The NEEWER Mini Metal Table Tripod with 360° Ball Head is designed to provide users with a stable and versatile solution for capturing high-quality photos and videos. Its compact design and robust construction make it ideal for both casual and professional use, supporting a maximum load of 3 kg for various camera types. Consumer sentiment reflects a mix of appreciation and criticism for this tripod. Many users praise its lightweight and portable design, with one stating, "I was pretty impressed with it for how cheap they are," highlighting its value for money. However, some users express concerns about stability under heavier loads, noting that "the tripod literally flexes under weight," which raises questions about its reliability in more demanding situations. Overall, while the NEEWER Mini Metal Table Tripod offers good portability and flexibility for casual use, potential buyers should consider their specific needs, especially if they plan to use heavier equipment. For those seeking a budget-friendly option that is easy to transport, this tripod may be a suitable choice, but serious photographers might want to explore more robust alternatives.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Lightweight and portable design
Light enough sturdy.
I used mine A7RIV with 70-200/2.8
Being super lightweight, relatively small and compact and somewhat stable.
I was pretty impressed with it for how cheap they are.
Sturdy and stable for various cameras
Price sucks but it is solid.
It really is so sturdy.
It still looks and works as new despite international travel.
Mine is going strong for 2.5 years, in my suitcase every time I travel.
Compact and portable design
Hands-on with the new Peak Design Travel Tripod: Digital Photography Review
it's cool to see someone giving solving that a go.
Portable and flexible design
The best part about them is that they are portable and flexible.
Flexible shooting angles
I am absolutely certain that the neewer uses lower quality cf than the peak though.
if I was to use it with my camera I think I'd need something with a ball head to put on top.
Good quality for the price
they offer the best quality for the price.
Reliable performance over time
i feel they are a very underrated brand. yet the neweer just keeps on working.
I've been using the Joby GorillaPod 3K for a couple of years now and it's done a great job.
Stable for various cameras
They are making solid, innovative designs... and still outsourcing the manufacturing.

Higher price point compared to alternatives
Shame it's at least twice the price of anything comparable.
you just won't catch me spending $600 when a functionally similar option exists for half the price.
It's $600. It's a lot of money.
The price- not so much lol.
Flexibility issues under heavy loads
I mean the tripod literally flexes under weight. It's not as stable or rigid as a $600 tripod should be.
How much weight you need to have to make it bend?
Very unreliable.
The engineering of components is quite sub par.
Considered an inferior product
they definitely are considered an inferior product, right?
Lightweight tripods have big stability trade offs and I keep saying this over and over.
That's their whole line, isn't it? Knock offs?
Not very solid for serious work
for serious work, you're better off saving up a bit for an actual tripod.
it's just about OK for something like a point and shoot but even my lightest SLR just flattens it.
I don't really like it. Often I need to work on it for minutes until I have set it up correctly.
A bunch of plastic cups held together with friction are not as good for long exposures or timelapse as something rigid.
Quality control issues
Neewer is really a 50/50 split between God awful and really good.
Bought a Neewer tripod and in less than 1 year the rubber foot has fallen off and made the whole tripod unusable.
Uses cheap materials
The problem with Neewar is they use the cheapest materials possible to get a passable product.
Fluid head is sticky and not smooth
the fluid head was crap compared to others ive used. It is sticky and not very smooth unless its quite loose.
Design flaws and stability issues
Indeed and when you look at Tony Northrups initial impression video there are already in my opinion way too many minor design flaws even to consider it.

Discussion on tripod stability and weight
I have and use mine, but I wouldn't buy it again, given some of the cheaper, more stable and similarly lightweight alternatives currently available.
I was under the impression that the Peak Design is the most compact on the market (with the head attached).
I simply got one and am happy enough to not look back.
As someone who has a degree in mechanical engineering, mass has everything to do with damping.

Has always punched way above its weight class for me.

Don’t buy tripods from Amazon.
The technology required to make a sturdy and light and durable tripod is pretty precise.
Discussion about removing the ball head
UPDATE: For anyone trying to do the same thing, I was able to remove the ball head adapter.
Keep doing this and the tapping should start to unlock the ball head.
