It's pretty good, but not $600 worth of good.
High-end tripods are a scam and it's a hill I am willing to die on.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Preference for heavier duty tripods
I find manfrotto too heavy and strangely breakable.
sturdy as hell and so versatile.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Discussion on tripod selection based on usage
just avoid anything marketed as “travel”, they fall over too easily.
What’s the maximum focal length for you to shoot handheld?
I hate it. Far prefer my 40 year old pan/tilt tripod.
On my last tripod, I figured I'd try a ball-head. I hate it. Far prefer my 40 year old pan/tilt
Comparison of different tripod brands
I'm a firm believer in buy once cry once. Just because cameras are expensive doesn't mean you have to continue to shell out insane amounts of money for accessories when cheaper options are available.
Gitzp or RRS are the best. Pricey but the most stable.
I imagine neewer do the same but they definitely are considered an inferior product, right?
I might pick one up. But you wont beat something like Manfrotto or Sachtler for reliability.
Discussion on tripod pricing and R&D costs
tripods really aren't the most difficult or expensive thing to build.
Leofoto's business model is largely copy expensive brands.
the most attractive feature of the leofotos are the price which makes many people overlook the copying factor.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion about quality inconsistencies in tripod brands
i feel they are a very underrated brand.
Bought a Neewer tripod and in less than 1 year the rubber foot has fallen off and made the whole tripod unusable.
Neewer is really a 50/50 split between God awful and really good.
It felt flimsy and I am often in high windy areas.
Mixed experiences with Neewer products
they offer the best quality for the price.
we are doing the whole quality over quantity thing now.
All in, it was a cheap and sturdy alternative to Gitzo and RRS.
User experiences with various tripod brands
That’s sirui for me. Has always punched way above its weight class for me.
That is Manfrotto for you… I have used and broken my fair share.
Concerns about tripod reliability across brands
I invested a lot of money into this camera and absolutely cannot afford it falling down and breaking...
Don’t buy tripods from Amazon.
The technology required to make a sturdy and light and durable tripod is pretty precise.
This is the way. Don’t skimp on the sticks.
