Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Antenna height is crucial for optimal VHF/UHF performance
Height is #1. Gain is #2.
Higher power will help with transmit, but it's not going to help with receiving, right?
Being higher is more important than power.
Height is the #1 priority for vhf/uhf antennas.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Debate over repurposing marine antennas for MURS use
Get a dedicated VHF antenna that works with your model handheld.
I wonder why more marine antenna companies don't advertise MURS, could bring them easy sales in a market without many options.
A lot cheaper than a $50 VHF Marine antenna anyways.
DIY amateur radio antenna guidance
I am hoping to find something easy to build that will let me transmit on different bands.
Using speaker wire, a banana plug, and a wire ring terminal, I built one and have been tuning on 40m and 20m.
I would second with another comment or said by buying a premade antenna, getting it up on the air, and then perhaps building your next antenna.
Nice! Thank you.

Preference for non‑invasive antenna installations
I have a glass mount antenna and I love it.
Glass mount antennas are easy and work good enough granted your vehicle doesn’t have defrosters in the glass.
I try to make it super boring.
Questions on antenna compatibility and upgrade potential in mobile setups
It's hard to beat without more length or significant cost. It's my favorite antenna.
Diamond antennas are quite good as I've seen looking on the net.
Define what a better antenna means to you. What do you hope it’ll do that your current 1/4 wave won’
Mobile antenna installations require proper ground plane setup
Would put in the base antenna, get some proper coax, and ground everything to code.
Stick with the base antenna if you can, that mobile antenna needs a ground plane under it to work.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Challenges in accurately testing HT antenna performance
"testing HT antennas is like herding cats", but still interesting to see the different results.
you can have a low SWR but also very low efficiency (that's what a dummy load is).
I'd like to, but it's something that's too expensive, and probably I will find (as expected) that I can have a 10 dB difference based on the make of the HT I use.
I actually ordered my first Signal stick a few nights ago. Look forward to trying it out!
Skepticism regarding exaggerated indoor antenna range claims
250 - 1000+ mile range indoor antennas are all out FRAUD claims.
The milage claims on most antennas range from very optimistic to cray-cray fantasy.
Do not fall for those insane range specs.
Debate and suggestions for improving high VHF indoor antenna reception
The Clearstream 4MAX that I have does fine with VHF-HI TV station that we have.
I’m pretty sure I don’t need a 4max, don’t believe it does any better than the max x or xr on the VHF side.
I'm thinking there's a couple potential ways to go here.
Have you tried turning the rabbitears antenna V-shape toward that direction and re-scanning?
Attic TV antenna recommendations and performance critiques
Which attic antenna should I get? There’s just so much YMMV that research is quite difficult. Here’s
It was really easy to set up currently it's in my detached garage attic connected to an HDHR.
The primary CBS (WBBM 2.1) is VHF (with a secondary 48.3 UHF transmitter) and you are within 25 mile
CBS is the worst reception right now with my flat window antenna.
