Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion on anti-theft features in fanny packs
There is the Snack Pack ($40) on the Lunchbox website and the Travelon Anti-Theft Active Waist Pack ($50) on Amazon.
I use a travel money belt. Fits a phone and cash and is basically like a mini fanny pack close to your body.
i cannot recommend lunchbox water packs/fanny packs, etc. enough. i also recommend getting a phone leash just in case (on amazon for like $5). theft is bad, especially at perrys (the edm stage). ive had a friend get something stolen EVERY year ive gone except last year when everyone had phone leashes.
the retractable cord js nice bc the cord is typically made of something very difficult to cut, so there's more security there.
Discussion on fanny pack styles and preferences
I'm not a big fanny pack guy, so it mostly gets used as an extra "pouch" that goes in my EDC bag, but I like the styling.
She really likes the lines organization and how it sits on her body.
Discussion about waterproof storage solutions
I put my phone, a credit card/Id, anything else that absolutely must be waterproof in their own little sandwich-sized ziploc baggies and put those in my belt bag.
> a gu exploding inside the belt bag
I mean, you can always get a swimming product, which may be unpleasant to run with but should be very waterproof.

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion on various uses and styles of fanny packs
consider using a double mag ifak insert like the Chinook Med one. You can fit a TQ inside as well for a pretty discreet package, or even double up.
The big bastard (Jedburgh, iirc) will carry your ifak or whatever you put in it, plus a full-size auto and a couple mags or two 30-rd M4 mags
Love to see more people bringing them back on the waist.
One of the few options where the opening is more of a flap rather than splitting the bag open.
Discussion on various uses of fanny packs at festivals
Hi! I’m coming in from out of state for the festival and I have a few questions, how bad is theft and should I invest in an anti-theft water pack?
Preference for fanny packs over hip pockets in backpacks
I think they create pressure points on the hip belt that are tightened for support.
General discussion about fanny pack usage in hiking
Thrupack has amazing fanny packs.

Concerns about food prices at festivals
Bring a water pack, yes food is expensive so plan on eating outside of the fest if possible, mostly everyone is from out of town, just talk to people or find folks on the lolla subreddit.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion on fashion trends related to fanny packs
Why *not* wear a fanny pack around your waist? Fashionistas have apparently decided that a fanny pack must be worn crossbody and not as originally designed.
It’s only a fanny pack if it comes from the fanny region of France. Everything else is sparkling cross-body
Because my 70 year old boomer dad wears it on his waist. That’s not fire.
No?? You should wear it the way you want and it feels most comfortable. Who cares what people say?
Concerns about waterproof fanny packs for swimming
It might seem crazy.
I would get a simple fanny pack, but carry your items in a dry bag that just simply goes in the fanny pack
But, those reviews always appear to just be in support of an affiliate link, so I wouldn't trust them as accurate.
Never tried swimming in the ocean with a fanny pack though but that’s such a great idea for keeping valuables nearby
Discussion on the evolving perception of fanny packs for men
it's time for men to have some hands-free, pocket free consciences.
