Snoop's Take

The Draw-Tite Front Mount Receiver is a robust towing solution designed specifically for select models of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra from 2020 to 2025. This hitch is engineered to provide a strong, custom fit with a maximum tongue weight capacity of 500 lbs, making it ideal for various towing applications. Consumer feedback highlights several strengths of the Draw-Tite receiver, including its high tongue weight capacity, with one user noting, "the tongue weight was like 350 lbs compared to the 500 lbs tongue weight on the Draw-Tite." However, some concerns arise regarding potential rust issues and the aesthetic appeal of the exposed main bar, as well as challenges in the installation process. For instance, a user commented, "Total pain to install," indicating that while the product has strong performance features, the installation could be cumbersome for some users. Overall, despite some negative feedback regarding installation difficulty and concerns about rust, the Draw-Tite Front Mount Receiver is generally recommended for its robust construction and high capacity, making it a strong contender in its category for those seeking reliable towing solutions.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Preferred brand for towing with hybrid vehicles
I prefer draw-tite.
Does not require widening or trimming for installation
It's 2", class III, and the manufacturer's PDF instructions and youtube install video don't mention widening the underbody holes.
It doesn't need any widening/trimming.
High tongue weight capacity
the tongue weight was like 350 lbs compared to the 500 lbs tongue weight on the Draw-Tite.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Concerns about rust and weather damage
My concerns are around rust and living in an area with snow/road salt/etc.
Same concerns here, being in the rust belt.
Main bar exposure looks unattractive
Others like the Draw Tite that have the main bar exposed all the way across, instead of hidden behind the bumper with just the receiver further down look bad to me.
Difficult installation process
Total pain to install.
Compatibility concerns with vehicle modifications
I’m not sure how a front hitch would even work with how the front bumper trim is on the 5th Gen.
Complicated installation process compared to OEM
Just removed the Draw-Tite and installed the OEM - very happy with the difference!
The install was way more complicated.
Requires bumper cutting for OEM installation
I wish I would have gone oem.
Difficult installation process compared to others
The 2” EcoHitch is a better hitch, but the installation looks like a lot of work.
The hitch install compared to installations on other cars is def more involved, but it really isn't too bad.

I didn’t know you could just combine the two into one beautiful beast!!!
Wonderful ingenuity and craftsmanship.

4 inches of clearance is a big deal.

Comparison with other brands
Looks like the Reese and Curt are two totally different mounting options for the superduty series.
Comparison with Curt front hitch
It was nice while it lasted though, and is definitely a feature I'll look for in a future bumper replacement.
Comparison with other hitch brands
At $550 it better be a better hitch, but $200 more better?
What do you like more about the ecohitch?

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion about front plate laws and ticketing
I don’t see any where to mount a plate, and I’d rather not use the front tow hitch.
Tell them the front grill keeps eating them.
I resisted putting a front plate on my 2019 4 convertible, but kept getting tickets.
That's just the original BMW subscription fee for no front plate.
Concerns about towing with non-compatible vehicles
I know the manual says not to tow with a wrx, but how heavy a load would you risk towing with it?
Having said all that, solid work on the hitch.
Anyway, I'm curious exactly why pulling a reasonable load on a trailer is a no-no.
I've got the echo hitch and it's great for my bike carriers.
