The tolviviov Alarm System for Home Security is a comprehensive 15-piece kit designed to enhance your home security with ease of use. It features WiFi connectivity, allowing you to control your alarm system remotely via an app, ensuring you stay informed of any intrusions even when you’re away from home. Consumer sentiment regarding the system highlights its effectiveness, with many users noting that "DSC is, was, rock solid," emphasizing the reliability of the alarms in deterring potential intruders. However, some concerns have been raised about the vulnerability of DIY systems to jamming, with feedback indicating that "both of those DIY systems are easily jammed." This mixed sentiment suggests users appreciate the product’s design and functionality but have reservations about the security robustness of DIY setups. Overall, the tolviviov Alarm System is recommended for those seeking a user-friendly and cost-effective home security solution, especially for users who value app connectivity and ease of installation, despite some noted vulnerabilities in DIY systems.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Smart home integrations enhance security
All great answers here + a guard dog and loud alarm.
My goal is to have a system that will last a long time and I can pick my monitoring platform.
What home automation capabilities exist with alarm systems?
Discussion about silencing keypad beeping
I like having 60 seconds to exit but don’t like the loud beeping that goes with it.
Go to System Settings --> Sound Settings and you can set the Exit Delay Sound to High, Low, or Off.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion about geofencing capabilities in security systems
I feel like this is a pretty straightforward question, but we have struggled to find an answer looking online.
It's very frustrating.
I’m leaving out brand specifics for now as I’m not trying to shill for the manufacturers in this post.
This requires some sort of smart system that can be programmed.

Discussion about alternative alarm companies
Having some problems with our home alarm company.
API is in Toronto I believe and they have the shittiest customer service.
As much as I hate giving even more money to Big Daddy Bezos, it works well and the price is right.
They are local. I’ve had no issues with them.
Discussion about alternative alarm systems
I went into this pretty naive and thought it would be easy to find systems that satisfy these requirements but after hours of reading I'm no closer to finding something.
IMHO, there's nothing "wrong" with a fairly old system with a long track record of security, especially when you can modernize it by connecting to home automation.
I mean it's not horrible but it is pretty high. I'm an alarm.com dealer and here's some prices for example.
Discussion about leaving Google ecosystem for security
Best home security alarm with Google Home integration? Ever since Google cancelled their own system, I have been waiting for a new system that has deep integration with the Nest/GHome ecosystem.
I moved my security system away from Google completely. I have (had) the Nest Secure and with the pending shutdown am moving my security completely away from Google and directly into SmartThings.
Mention of alternatives to traditional alarm systems
You can actually have the best of both solutions... check out www.konnected.io
There are some limitations in terms of what it can/cannot do compared to a traditional system.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion about the effectiveness of alarm systems
Now with live video alarm apps with real time notification, is this a big waste of $? I save more annually from cancelled monitoring as discount on home insurance was minimal.
The alarm sticker on the window is about as effective a deterrent you can get. If they still break in after seeing that they'll be in and out before any police response no matter if it was a monitored alarm or not.
Check to see if your insurance has a monitored alarm discount and then do the math from there.
The better discounts come when you have a monitored sump and smoke detector. If it's just for burglary, the discount sucks.
Alarm may trigger falsely due to environmental factors
my alarm system went off for no reason and now I’m afraid I’m not alone could just be my anxiety but anyways.
It just happens. Low batteries often cause the sensors to start acting flaky and indicate they’re open.
Is it possible to reinforce the locks for the garage door? That way in the future, you know for sure that no one has come in.
Is it very cold where you are? Was there a little power flicker that made the alarm confused, for lack of a better word.
Concerns about privacy with cheap DIY systems
most of them don’t care about your privacy
Skepticism about Google Home's security capabilities
Nothing about Google Home is security based and anything that interfaces with Google Home has to do so based on their operations.
Discussion on balancing physical and electronic security measures.
I don't want to put a price on our safety, but budgets exist for a reason.
Physical first.
The long term goal is what you should identify and then start building that goal one piece at a time.
Security always has to be in layers. If one part fails to deter an intruder, you want a whole lotta parts behind it ready to kick in.
Discussion on reliability of DIY alarm systems
All my options are DIY but some more than others.
I'll take my chances with the diy alarm, thanks.
Personal experiences with DIY alarm setups
Overall I trust that I will know if anybody is on my property or trying to get into my house while I'm away.
