Snoop's Take

The Rii RK907 Ultra-Slim Compact USB Wired Keyboard is a plug-and-play device engineered for both Mac and PC users. It delivers a quiet, low-profile typing experience in a compact, budget-friendly design. Consumer feedback has been a rollercoaster: while some users proclaim, “Its 10/10. Great quality,” others lament issues ranging from flimsy key responses to unexpected shutdowns. The debate centers on its affordability versus its reliability, with many highlighting its simplicity alongside quirks like a USB port that seems to only charge. Overall, the sentiment is as divided as its feature set. In summary, if you’re after a wallet-friendly keyboard for light everyday tasks and don’t mind occasional functional hiccups, the Rii RK907 might serve you well. However, for those seeking robust durability and premium performance, this offering falls short of expectations.

Battery dependency and replacement inconvenience
isn't it inconvenient to have to switch the batteries after they die?
Flimsy build quality and unreliable touchpad/buttons
It’s flimsy as hell, the buttons often rollover from a single press, they’re mushy as fook, the touch pad is janky.
USB port only supports charging, not data
At best all you'll be able to do is hardwire the USB connection somewhere before the USB plug, which is just for charging btw.
Poor power management leading to auto shutdown
The Rii Mini is nearly perfect, but then it's shortcomings make it almost completely useless.
Inconsistent durability and reliability with button wear
Mine lasted 3 months. Wish you better luck.
I don't know it just wouldn't turn on.
Mine is 4 years old and still works fine, just less battery life.
Overall not bad.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Diverse Use Cases and Alternative Device Options
It is very good and works as you would expect.
Can't beat the size if you just NEED a keyboard and arrow keys and such.
as it includes a microphone, allowing for voice typing.
It all depends on what you need.
Interest in DIY wired connectivity modifications
I was considering keeping it wireless, but allowing it to dock and charge via its USB port while stowed.
I'm just spit balling but I know there are USB plugs to essentially batteries.
I desperately need your help.
Maybe the chatbot was right, but I’d just plug in the USB and call it a day.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Boot Pairing and Pre-OS Limitations
the only problem i can think of is how quickly the receiver and the keeb pair once the USB port has power.
I held Fn and spammed Back during boot, but unfortunately to no avail.
In other words, it starts up a a simpler device with fewer functions until the OS loads and it transforms into a full-featured HID device.
Preference for Dongleless or Simplified Connectivity
I want a simple solution that fits in my case and doesn't have a dongle to lose or mix up with lots of other dongles.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Mixed Reliability and Functionality Issues
It's useful but far from perfect.
none of the buttons work.
They're all cheap, and they all get the job done more or less.
battery life being the only complaint.
MicroUSB connector durability issues
it's a good one - just watch the microUSB connector (it very often breaks or "loosens" - you can fix it with a screwdriver as I have dozens of times)
The original one was always loose the new one is pretty firm.
Liked it while it worked!
