Both racks seem quite similar. There are plenty of great reviews for the Velocirax system, but I can’t help but think that the new Thule Revert will also be excellent, given how well Thule tests their products.

I can’t imagine a convenient way to store the Thule rack that didn’t take up a ton of space in addition to wherever you store the bikes.
Inexpensive option to consider
they're inexpensive enough that I'd say it's worth a try for you.
Durable bike for long-distance use
I owned mine for a year, 945 miles, and still love it!
I love my bike. It requires little to no maintenance, and even after the hundreds of miles I've put on it, it's still as smooth and quiet as ever.
Good bargain bike with quality assembly
It's a good bargain bike as long as you have a quality assembly and not a Walmart assembly.
Affordable pricing for decent quality
For $300 I have no complaints. I’ve been riding every day.
Love the budget-friendly price
I imagine between that and errands, I'll be on bike for 10 or so miles daily.
Love the very budget friendly price which helped me impulsively pull the trigger on April and now riding a bike's all I want to do.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion on benefits of hitch-mounted bike racks
I was wondering if it would be worth it to get a hitch installed and get a hitch mount for my car or I should keep doing what I've been doing and put it inside the car without its front wheel.
Probably one the best bike investments I've made, makes traveling with the bike soooooooo much easier.
Does your suv not already have a receiver?
I can haul six e-bikes if I want.
Variety of personal experiences with Retrospec bikes
I tried to swap in some standard after-market pedals, but the crankset would only accept some smaller-sized pedal axle.
General praise for Retrospec bikes based on personal experiences
I love this little bike for the money.
Discussion about bike commuting experiences
How’s your experience with the bike? I’m thinking about buying one as well.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Discussion on bike rack installation challenges
What screws do I use? It came with screws but it’s too small.
I recently used M5 bolts in my bike.
Depending on the store they may let you bring the bike in.
You can buy a 10' strip of double sided Velcro for ~$10 and cut a length to wrap around the backpack and handlebar post.
Discussion on bike rack compatibility with specific bike frames
Cargo rack? Hi, I’m pretty new to bike commuting. How do I figure out whether or not a rear rack is compatible with my bike or not?
It's compatible. You can clearly see the mounting holes on the picture.
This answer is correct, the photos show the bike frame having threaded holes for mounting a rack (and fender).
The best is to try it at the bike store. That bike has mounts on the seat stays and dropouts, so there's a good chance that a classic welded aluminium rack will fit, but some bending may be required.
Discussion on bike fit for tall riders
I just want something to ride around the city and not feel like I'm on a complete piece of junk.
Discussion on direct-to-consumer sales and assembly issues
Wrong way Retrospec sucks up 2+ hours at bike co-op for all other adjustments
Reading some of the bike subs, I'm really surprised direct to consumer sales hasn't led to more lawsuits from folks who have no business assembling their own bikes.
Ebikes must be making this even worse. All the same hilariously bad assembly except now you can immediately twist a throttle and do 30mph.
I know state bike co requires proof of professional assembly to recieve a warranty. I know nothing about the law but maybe that helps them not get sued?
Discussion on bike co-op options for budget-conscious buyers
You might be able to get a used bike that’s been looked over by volunteer well below your $300 budget and get on with your life.
Insights about the importance of local bike shop assembly and maintenance
Really nice guys who showed me the bike in person and gave me all the information I needed.
Discussion on various bike brands and value comparison
I do want to make sure I am getting something decent which I could later upgrade.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Concerns about bike theft with new bikes
I think you're barking up the wrong tree if shopping for a *new* bike that won't attract thieves.
