What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Fantastic value for the money
they are fantastic for the money.
I have them as ditch lights and really like them.
Lenses remain clear over time
the lenses are still crystal clear.
lenses just as clear as day one, except for bug guts lol
Very bright lighting
if its rocky trails, youre gonna be going slower so a floody/combo beam is your best bet.
Bright and effective lighting for various activities
Get the ones with wiring and inline fuse, makes installation easier.
Amber lights provide better visibility in inclement weather
I've run amber on my Jeep for years and there have been some situations where I will turn my headlights off and drive with just the ambers because they are *that* good.
I love using them for winter driving.
It helps the road lines show better.
Helpful community for lighting advice
I really wish the offroad lighting community was 1/10 as awesome as you guys.
I agree, this community is one of the best and most helpful.
Best community I've found. No one has ever made me feel dumb for asking 'dumb' questions.
Good value for budget lighting
Yea they don't cast perfectly like likes 10-20x their price but they are also dumb cheap.
They work just fine. All for under $100 with mounts.
Suitable for various applications
It’s hard to go wrong with cheapies like that. They’ll work great but may not last 5+ years.
Decent performance for the price
Beyond that they did what they needed to.
Provides excellent additional lighting for night activities
Personally I'd go low. Like around your headlight height.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Wiring is difficult to manage.
Wiring was a pain tho
My 8W diode dynamics pods are brighter than their stuff rated at like "8x" the power
both have to be sent back one pod from each one are junk
Now to wait for dark to get comparison picks.
High light pattern may cause blinding.
Very high light pattern for fog lights, are you sure they don't blind?
Poor coating quality leading to corrosion
Long time user of the Amazon specials. Amazon ones have poor coating quality.
Perceived as overpriced compared to Amazon alternatives
I feel like the whole road shock line is super overpriced for what it is vs. amazon lights.
Concerns about lens durability over time
How well do the lenses hold up? I notice on our fleet trucks even the aftermarket led work lights glaze over after ~2 years.
Too bright for fog lights, causing potential blinding
You don't want bright and fog lights in the same sentence.
This is the correct answer.

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Pods used primarily for backroad driving.
My fog lights are aim straight down and low. The pods have the high light pattern.

Road shock off-road lights Are the roadshock off-road lights any good? I’m thinking about using them for backup lights for my truck.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Comparison with other brands and personal experiences.
Killer. I put some amber Baja Designs on my TRX and love them.
You get what you pay for. Baja designs is where it's at.
The harbor freight ones are good, or Diode Dynamics.
What? No beam shots at night? Cmon!
User considering installation for specific vehicle.
how are these lights holding up? I'm thinking of sticking two of these in the grill of my Miata to light up the backroads at night
Discussion on quality vs price of light bars
Are the $1k high end light bars 10x better than the $100 Amazon specials? Getting better color, range, or quality out of them?
Lighting up the midnight sky.
With the right amount of research, you can get a lightbar that will outshine the more expensive competition at a fraction of the price.
Discussion on comparing with other brands
Here’s the ones they basically copied. $370 bucks.
Considerations for fog light brightness and functionality
LED fog light replacement? I have a 2001 and trying to find a bright LED setup that would fit in the factory fog light holes in the bumper...any leads?
Discussion about lighting research and comparisons
My spot pattern cubes and 30" bar from Rigid, super worth it (also got them on sale), my flood pattern amber cubes from rigid, way less worth it because I could have gotten some generic amber LED cubes for $40 instead of $200 with basically the same optics.
Consideration of lighting options for specific vehicles
Which lights do you have around the rack for area lights?
User considering installation for specific vehicle
Recently got a Crosstrek and looking into mods like this.
Better to mount lights high up or down low?

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
User experimenting with sealing for better durability
Made it very easy to add a bead of epoxy all around the seams.
Might wanna seal them up around the seams with some kind of water resistant caulking.
Discussion on effectiveness of amber vs white fog lights
I’m interested in their effectiveness in heavy snow/rain/fog.
Critically important, both for performance in real fog and not being a rude driver.
Desire for better LED light bar reviews
A shop from the flashlight community [made light bars](http://www.mtnlitebar.com/) for a little while, but has stopped. It probably comes as no surprise that their performance trounced most of the market.
User experiences with various brands
I can not for the life of me see why someone would pay $400-$2,000 for a light.
