Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Technical discussion on battery current draw
I have a mighty max battery that I run led lights off of.
The current draw is based on what the LED lights require up to the maximum the battery can provide.
Charging time discussion for 12V batteries
Leave it overnight. 2A isn't a lot.
I didn't trust it to leave it charging while I was at work.
If it was left to sit until it self discharged to dead, the battery is probably dead and will never charge.
If it's supplying a proper and steady 2a, it should take 5 hours from dead since it's a 10ah battery.
Specialized battery terminal connection requires proper cables
I bought an F2 type battery connector on Amazon but it was too small to slide onto the + & - terminals of the battery.
You can't find anything because this type of battery is meant to have power cables with a crimp on eyelet at the end.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Considerations for powering Arduino projects with a 12V battery
Some fellow researchers have recommended using a MightMax battery to do this and being a beginner to Arduino/batteries I am wondering if this is possible and would work fine?
A better alternative is a buck converter powering the 5V pin (or USB jack).
I'd be running it likely for 12 hours not 24 so it would last closer to 2 weeks.

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
UPS battery replacement technical advice
Yes, just put the exact same size lead acid back in it.
Yes I only have it to keep it on until I can shut it down after a power outage.
You don't have to get the exact same battery, just one with the same voltage (12V), dimensions and the same capacity (7.2AH) or higher.
CSB batteries are a good replacement if you want it to last as long as possible.
Voltage compatibility concerns for 12V ride-on applications
Staying 12v will be the simplest way to swap batteries and not worry about anything else.
Thanks, that is useful!
When you go higher than 12V it will increase the stress on the motors and you will end up replacing the motors sooner rather than later or never.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Clarification on electrical safety advice
YSK that "it's not the volts that kill, it's the amps" is oversimplified and should not be taken as safety advice.
Discussion of rapid battery drain in automotive usage
I'm just so fricking tired of having a dead battery every weekend on a brand new car.
have them do a parasitic draw test to make sure it’s not drawing excessive current and killing the battery
The battery’s draining itself and needs to be replaced.
It's a known issue and it's 100% a bad battery.
