Snoop's Take

The MAXPOWER Lug Wrench is a versatile and compact tool designed for removing and tightening lug nuts on a variety of vehicles. With its 1/2-inch drive and detachable design, this tire wrench is compatible with most standard lug nut sizes, allowing for efficient tire changes and maintenance. Consumer feedback highlights both the strengths and weaknesses of the MAXPOWER Lug Wrench. Many users appreciate its compact size and effectiveness, noting that it is "great in a pinch" and excels at removing tight lug nuts. However, there are concerns regarding the quality of the materials, with some reporting that the wrench can bend under high torque: "I slammed my hand into the asphalt" illustrates the frustration faced by some users when the tool fails under pressure. Overall, while the MAXPOWER Lug Wrench offers convenience and compatibility for a variety of vehicles, potential buyers should be aware of the mixed reviews regarding its durability. It may be a suitable choice for casual users, but those requiring a heavy-duty tool for frequent use might want to consider alternatives.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Compact and easy to store
Looks like I need to pick up a proper one.
Even when properly torqued my wheel bolts do not like coming off! I’d hate to be stranded on the roadside and only have the supplied wrench.
Is it worth it buy an impact wrench to remove lug nuts when I do my tire change or I’m better off using a breaker bar to loosen and finish off with an impact driver?
Can the M18 Fuel Impact Driver handle removing lug nuts every once in a while? Is it safe to use or does that type of work damage the driver?
Effective for removing tight lug nuts
I no longer use wheel locks to avoid that issue, and I always re-torque the lugs after a shop has touched my wheels.
I worked in a dealership for a while, and all the other lube-techs went fucking crazy with the impact wrench.
They do work to limit torque but the value is completely unreliable until you see the result from your own combination of stick and impact.
This is the answer. Breaker bar to loosen, driver to zip them off and on, torque to spec.

Wrench is made of low-quality material
Lug wrench that came with my son’s mustang seems to be made out of an old beer can.
The walls of the tube are too thin for the application.
It bent right when I started loosening the last nut on the wheel with the flat tire.
The torque stick will begin to flex and return to normal until the next impact.
Wrench can bend under torque
looks like it bent putting the last lug of the spare on, so they already took the bad tire off
Wrench can bend under high torque
the damn lug nuts didn't budge. I had to call roadside and he had trouble too but managed to get to spare on
I slammed my hand into the asphalt.
but it's unlikely to do the job.
certainly not going to pull an axle nut off.
Concerns about quality and effectiveness of wrench
You can pay $150-200 for an impact wrench.
And when you come to a bolt that is stubborn a 3/8 will laugh at... the big boy will do the job!.
Do not use a tork wrench as a breaker bar unless you plan on buying a new tork wrench.

Advice on using breaker bars and impact drivers
Its very useful, yes, but for just tires, a breaker bar and a good impact driver(1/4" female, like for screws) will probably suffice.
I use my 1/4” “impact drill” for that. It’s got enough balls to knock it loose but not enough to damage anything.
