Snoop's Take

Mamaearth Dusting Powder for Babies is a gentle, talc-free baby powder designed to keep your baby's skin dry and comfortable, particularly in diaper areas. It utilizes natural ingredients like organic oatmeal, cornstarch, and arrowroot to absorb moisture and soothe dry skin, making it a safe choice for sensitive baby skin. Positive feedback highlights its safety, with one user stating, "Keep the baby free of chemicals," while others express concerns about the brand's reputation, with comments like, "Mama Earth is just shit and derma co doesn't work." Despite mixed reviews regarding brand perception, the product is recommended for parents looking for a natural, talc-free alternative in baby care.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Talc-free and safe for babies
Talcy free translucent, finely milled, dusting powder (fragrance is not an issue) recommendations please.
Arrowroot powder is particularly soft and finely milled, and works just as well as commercial setting powders.
Everyone were suggesting to use natural product brands like Mamaearth, Sebamed, and so on.. How true is this ?
Keep the baby free of chemicals. If sweating and chaffing is the problem then keep the baby dry by patting it dry from time to time.
Gentle and safe for sensitive baby skin
We still use it at 6 months adjusted and it is really good stuff.

Avoids using Mamaearth products
Aveeno Baby, Burt's Bees Baby, Sebamed Baby, Cetaphil Baby and Forest Essentials baby massage oil + powder.
Avoid mamaearth at all cost.
Personally, I'm not interested in trying out Mamaearth.
Negative perception of Mamaearth products
So what exactly went or is wrong here with their SPF range?
I personally hate honasa cz of their excessive influencer marketing.
Mama Earth is just shit and derma co doesn't work.
My dermatologist scared me off of mamaearth - lot of clients came to her with complaints apparently :/
Negative perception of Mamaearth skincare products
Is Mamaearth really a shitty brand? I've never used Mamaearth before.
Honestly their skincare is shitty and not worth it at all.
Mamaearth skincare is shit! Don't ever use it.
Concerns over safety of talc-based powders
In addition to all the talc and aspiration concerns, it’s just messy! I can’t imagine sprinkling that on the baby’s bum and it getting everywhere.
No baby powder. Especially powder with talc in it - it's linked to some pretty horrendous health issues.
Preference for creams over powders
From the research I’ve done; baby powder isn’t used anymore! And it’s just diaper creams that are used!
You’re not supposed to use it because they can aspirate it into their lungs. It’s really dangerous.
No baby powder! Ask your pediatrician for more info!
Concerns about excessive drying of skin
I will try the arrowroot powder. But my concern is, won't it dry out skin too much?

Discussion on talc-free baby powders
PROTIP: use baby powder instead of dry shampoo
use cornstarch. It's talc-free and scentless.
Arrowroot starch may be my favorite. I feel like it's finer than cornstarch and baby powder.
Most talc is contaminated with asbestos. J&J just got sued over that. Definitely stick to the cornstarch!

Discussion on baby powder usage trends
I was packing our diaper bag for normal diaper bag needs and things for the hospital when he is delivered.
I have been using it for about 6 months and not even 1/4 is finished.

Cautionary Callouts

Discussion on non-toxic baby products
Best non toxic baby skin products recommendations please? Looking for baby face cream, lotion, shampoo, body wash and massage oil recommendations.
Using Atolga baby lotion and face cream. It’s worked very well and I’m very happy with it.
Non-toxic baby products?! Anyone out there that is an organic/non-toxic mama please tell me what you are buying for baby products! I’m a first time mom, and I’m gonna be doing research myself but would really love some pushes in the right direction! It’s super important for me that I use all safe products for baby.
I stayed away from silicone as much as I could, as I am still uncertain about it.
Discussion on diaper rash solutions
Baby A's rash is 1/3rd the size. and Baby B's rash is no longer red (or even pink) and the sores are almost healed.
It was the only thing that worked and I wish I had seen the derm sooner in retrospect because I spent the first 6 weeks so distressed about managing it and his pain.
We used a wet washcloth and dab. Hairdryer on cool to dry the area. Then it was a three step application: cavilion spray (you can order online), followed by stoma powder, then a thick layer of a barrier cream e.g. desitin.
My kid has a terrible reaction to Huggies! Point being, try another brand. Also, I tried all the ointments you used. A+D was the only one that worked.
Discussion on Mamaearth's skincare line reputation
Mama Earth's ubtan face wash is their worst product - it is a scrub more than a wash and I'm sure the only ubtan it has is in its fragrance.
I really liked their ubtan facewash and it was the only product of mamaearth that I purchased twice.
What abt their soaps cocoa and charcoal? I felt them dehydrating my skin.
I’ve recently started using the Simple face wash and love it! Have you tried it?
