What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Easy to nurse baby to sleep
I can nurse her to sleep and roll away and zip her in.
It was easy to travel with.
My kid sleeps on hers every night. It fits on our daybed so I sleep beside her and can take her out via side door when she wakes up.
Convenient for contact naps
I promise it is!! We did tons of contact naps and saving naps and went through times where I couldn’t even roll away or they’d get upset.
Easy to use and travel with
Love our guava lotus. Very easy to use and travel with.
I have a guava lotus and all fabric pieces can go in the wash.
The Lotus is so great. Backpack and goes right in the overhead bin so no need to check it.
Travel Crib Help: Guava Lotus vs Uppababy Remi FTM: Am stuck between getting the guava lotus or uppababy remi.
Compact and portable for air travel
Overall, I went with the Newton travel crib because my big baby would have more space to roll around.
We have a wedding in Portugal when the baby will be 4 months old and are not sure what to do for safe sleep while abroad.
I do think it’s due to the mattress being too thin and hard.
Comfortable for baby to sleep in
she seemed comfortable in it and it was nice to be able to lay next to her to help her go to sleep
It’s not safe to add a topper to a travel crib!! Please don’t.
He’s 9 months and just doesn’t sleep well in his travel crib :( literally sleeps through the night in his normal crib which has a plushy newton mattress.
Super easy to put up and down, and packs up really easy.
Suitable transition between bassinet and floor bed
Mine went from bassinet to guava lotus to floor bed.
Safe and comfortable for baby to sleep in
It’s definitely firm enough for safe sleep and I love the clips to keep the sheet from popping up when baby moves around.
We love ours and despite heavily using it, ours is still in great condition!!
Updates on newer models
I read somewhere the new mattress is twice as thick. I'm just hoping I didn't get ripped off and the quality more or less is the same, because of course I intended to buy the newer version
The updates include: New softer, higher quality fabric; A larger side door for easier access; Easy-to-attach mattress clips; Thicker mattress padding; Thicker backpack padding
Just to know if it were important enough of a factor that would change my decision to buy an older used version.
They sent me the new mattress with a cover that converts to work with the straps of the old crib.
Lightweight and easy to travel with
the Guava Lotus was recommended to us because it’s light weight and easier to travel with.
We have both and we LOVE the Lotus. It's so, so much smaller and easier to pack around, and it feels more stable when my toddler does MMA in it at night.
Allows for easy nursing
Overall, it's really simple to set up and take down, too.
No weight limit due to floor design
A pack n play has a weight limit of 30 lb, as added info.
Easy to set up and pack
Set up takes like 30 seconds after doing it once.
Highly recommended for travel
It’s easy to set up and pack away, has backpack straps, is relatively light and fits in (most) overhead airplane bins.
Safe and constant spot for baby
This travel crib has been a safe, constant spot for our daughter in several hotels, relative’s houses, long stay furnished apartments, and finally our new home.
Convenient for travel
Multifunctional tool until we feel comfortable with a low twin mattress.
Convenient for nursing
being able to just move her sideways instead of up and down kept her asleep better.
the lotus does have an extra pack that transforms it into a bassinet, which may be more comfortable for you postpartum than having to lean all the way over or get on the ground to use the zipper.
Compact and portable for travel
Trying to avoid buying a bassinet for the four or five months before baby grows out of it since this is our last child.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Difficult to set up and take down
It’s really spacious, but putting it together/taking it apart is a nightmare.
Concerns about floor height for nighttime use
Will it break my back when we put him down for bed ? How easy or bad was it for your family?
Concerns about height limit for toddlers
I’m hoping that we can hold off on transitioning out of a crib until after the trip.
Difficult to access for newborns
You're going to want something that is raised so you don't have to bend over and place a newborn so close to the floor.

Concerns about outgrowing the crib
My daughter is 9 months and 30 inches. At what point does a baby outgrow a travel crib?
Comparison with other travel cribs
Currently looking at the Guava Lotus or Newton travel cribs rather than a traditional pack and play.
There is a travel bag for it when flying.
Baby Bjorn travel crib is also great but probably slightly too long for a carryon.
Concerns about fitting sheets and using the crib with newborns
Nothing has happened! But if you can reduce the things causing you worries when travelling with babies, why not?
Almost all pack and plays are manufactured with sleep in mind, they just don’t explicitly say it.
Discussion about comparison with Graco Pack N' Play
I think we would use this for a safe space for baby in the living room as well as travel.
Comparison with pack and play regarding safety
we used a crib mattress on the floor at 6 months, and we use a pack n play until a bit after 1st birthday
Comparison with pack and plays
Idk what that is, but me and all my homies have used pack and plays for our kids.
I'd go with a standard pack and play. Easy to carry set up and can use until the little bugger can climb out on his own.
Concerns about minimizing baby gear
Travel is temporary and you can try on extra hotel bed or hotel cribs.
