Snoop's Take

The Gas One Camping Stove is a portable wood-burning stove designed for outdoor cooking, offering versatility and convenience for campers, hikers, and adventurers. Made from durable stainless steel, it allows users to cook using natural materials like twigs and leaves, making it an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional fuel sources. Consumer feedback highlights its portability and affordability, with one user stating, "for the price I doubt it can be beat," while some users noted challenges with temperature control and the time required to start cooking compared to gas alternatives. In conclusion, while the Gas One Camping Stove has received positive remarks for its compact design and eco-friendly operation, it may not suit everyone due to its longer cooking times and potential difficulty in finding fuel. Overall, it is recommended for those looking for a budget-friendly and portable camping stove, but users seeking quick and easy cooking may prefer more conventional options.

My grill meanwhile, has already been on and pre-heating the whole time you're getting your bricks started, which means I will *always* have a head start.

Less control over temperature compared to gas
My grill meanwhile, has already been on and pre-heating the whole time you're getting your bricks started, which means I will *always* have a head start.
Charcoal is also just harder to control, leading to sometimes having food with too much smoky taste.
Requires more time to start cooking
but i’d bet anyone i can get a charcoal grill going almost as fast as a gas grill.
Stove is hard to find fuel canisters
often are hard to find/out of stock. I'm planning to get a propane one instead sometime soon
Tedious to use compared to gas
It’s cute, but seems like it would be tedious to use when I can just have instant reliable cooking with gas.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion about butane stove BTU output
Butane has 130,000 btu per gallon.
They make some fairly high end ones for cooking at home that I often see used for cooking content, so I think that last part may come down to model.
Discussion about various types of camping stoves
Does anyone have any experience with folding wood stoves?
The nice thing about the stick stoves is, as you said, abundant fuel.

Discussion about fuel storage preferences in emergencies
Hello All, I am getting hurricane ready. I am wondering if there is any benefit for storing an alcohol stove vs propane(jet boil).
The most important thing is have a stove with fuel separate from the grid. I recommend propane because of its versatility, but can't go wrong here.
I recommend a Kelly Kettle. It boils water stupid fast, can grill, or cook anything with the hobo stove attachment, and doesn’t require propane, alcohol, or any other fuel.
I like the butane stoves they’re adequate to be used indoors with proper ventilation.
Comparison with Solo Stove products
Does not put out heat but will make you a drink and meal pretty quick.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Debate between charcoal and gas grilling
I’m pro charcoal and have a kettle but I don’t agree when people try and say charcoal is as convenient.
I've heard that buying a normal grill and using it as a built in by removing wheels or legs can be a bad idea, but is that still true if the grill is a charcoal grill instead of a gas one?
It depends on the grill.
I built a support and surround out of concrete cinder blocks and set the grill body inside, using it as a charcoal cooker/smoker for another ten years.
Concerns about carcinogenic effects of charcoal
Charcoal grilling is extremely carcinogenic...
it's a fact it contains carcinogens and is carcinogenic.
