Snoop's Take

The Fabtech FTS220512 Dual Shock Kit is designed to enhance the suspension performance of trucks, providing improved ride quality and articulation compared to stock setups. Many users have praised this kit for its ability to elevate ride comfort, with one stating, "Absolutely incredible kit. Rides much better than stock and has a bunch of articulation." However, some feedback indicates that it may not be suitable for all truck generations, and there are concerns about ride quality when using a 6" lift, leading to mixed sentiments among users. Considering the feedback, this product shows a divide in consumer satisfaction. While some appreciate the ride improvements, others express disappointment regarding compatibility issues and ride quality with significant lifts. Therefore, potential buyers should weigh the positive feedback against the criticisms, particularly regarding the exact fit for their vehicle model and desired lift height. In conclusion, the Fabtech FTS220512 Dual Shock Kit may be recommended for those looking to enhance their truck's ride quality, but it is essential to ensure compatibility with specific truck generations to avoid dissatisfaction.

Positive Feedback

Fox 2.5s do not fit only the 2.0… and kings does not make any that would fit this.

Not suitable for all truck generations
Fox 2.5s do not fit only the 2.0… and kings does not make any that would fit this.
I would like the Fox 2.5s but I don’t seem to find any that would fit this generation…sadly.
Poor ride quality with 6" lift
It rides like shit. and handles like a dump truck.
6" is a ludicrous amount of lift for IFS and Fabtech has a pretty lousy reputation.
I have never heard anything good about fabtech lifts.
Fabtech is a shit company, but that's not why your truck is riding terribly.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Technical discussions on RAM compatibility
As long as both modules are an exact match with frequency & timings (and they appear to be), then there won't be any issues running them in dual-channel.
If i were to use a different brand but they have the same specs it will work fine?
These appear to be so close in serial numbers they're certainly from the same batch and there won't be any issues and they should run at the speeds listed in dual channel.
That you should always buy in multiples such as 16GBx2 kits.
Discussion about suspension and lift kits
it's time to beef up my suspension and get back some clearance on my JK
I’m partial to the dual rate coils that come with a metalcloak lift
How do you like it?
Couldnt be happier with it.
Personal experiences with similar vehicles
Dude, awesome Tahoe! Mine is actually the same color and that's about the height that I'm going for.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Comparisons to other brands
They are great.
I am looking for something to make my road rides a bit softer, as we have horrible roads here in Alberta.
Consideration of long travel kits
If you're looking for even better performance, maybe consider a long travel kit?
Shipping and packaging concerns
the seal was too loose, so much that you can literally reach in, take out, and put back the RAMs.
People seem to know sh*t here.. sorry but this is the wrong place to come when it comes to tech support or help.
If they have the same speed and timings (compare the sticker on the ram sticks) it's okidoki.
General RAM usage advice
It'll run, its fine.
Or just do like most people do and use all 4 slots and max out on ram 😁
Considerations for daily driving with larger tires
I will be turning it into a weekend warrior over time and therefore want to do it right for minor rock crawling.
Inquiry about performance comparison with other brands
Has anyone used them before or know what kind of ride improvement to expect?
Inquiry about aftermarket parts for diesel vehicles
I am still pretty new to the diesel world and I wanted to get the opinion of the more seasoned folks.
Discussing challenges of upgrading suspension with AutoRide
It's clear that they aren't actually using their lifted vehicles to enhance performance, but to look good parked at the mall and tailgating.
The fun part was soldering in 4 resistors to the autoride sensors on each corner to eliminate the “Service suspension” message on the dash.
They are better than stock on the road and I can comfortably drive twice as fast on fire roads in full control.
you dont need to be lifted that tall just to have extra clearance.
Recommendations for suspension kits
Rough Country would be worth looking into.
Impulsive buying experiences related to truck frames
Yeah i bought it for a good price. After finding out what he did to the frame i kinda impulse bought it.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Humorous takes on tech company names
Tech company names are fun because I never know how I’m supposed to read them.
I say G-skill.
General chatter about truck modifications
Tight. I have a 2011 DC I’m thinking of tricking out.
Discussion on lift kit brands and experiences
Metalcloak has great customer service as well.
I’ve no experience with Teraflex.
Visually the Metalcloak looks awesome.
Discussion on brands and their reliability
If I were to do it again I would pick Readylift.
Concerns about cutting crossmember for lift installation
you are pretty much stuck with a 6 inch lift.
