Snoop's Take

The ANWA 32" Tall Cat Scratching Post is a 3-in-1 indoor entertainment station designed to offer cats a dedicated space to scratch, stretch, and play with its array of hanging toys and comfy rest area. Its sturdy sisal construction and reinforced heavy chipboard base ensure the post can withstand even the most vigorous feline antics. Community chatter is as lively as a catfight at a fish market: while many owners report that their cats have adopted it as their cherished play zone—one even noting, 'My cat insists on taking this specific scratching post around the house with him'—others lambaste its construction. Comments like 'Hot glue gun. Salvage what you can.' point to concerns about the rapid degradation of the sisal rope, sparking debates about whether you’re buying quality or a cheap makeshift toy. The reviews are a mixed bag, with owners both enamored and exasperated by the product’s quirks. In conclusion, if you’re after a budget-friendly cat playground that also saves your furniture, ANWA’s scratching post holds its ground in the competitive category, provided you’re prepared for the occasional repair and a bit of retail ingenuity. Overall, it is recommended for indoor cat owners who appreciate a blend of fun and functional design with a dash of DIY spirit.

Sisal rope deteriorates quickly and requires frequent repairs
Hot glue gun. Salvage what you can.
Seriously this is $5 of jute rope from Home Depot.
Walmart has a spool for 5$ that will replace like 4 of these.
Because if there is any way that my cat could potentially get injured and cost me $400 at the vet, he absolutely will.

Sadly yes. I looked at reviews, spent $50 on the best vertical scratcher, and the only time she will put her paws on it is if I put a treat on top.
Try rubbings some catnip on it
I tried that with a horizontal scratcher that she ignored and continued to use the cushioned mats in the kitchen.
Did you try a paper one? If she likes paper bags, this might be it
Deploy furniture protection strategies
The only way I spared my leather couch was by using blankets over the sides where she prefers to scratch.
And yeah, scratching posts help but they never seem to stop a cat.
